What are the challenges?

Performance Poster Design All challenges are open for 1st, 2nd and 3rd

placed winners. Three groups with the highest average

score will be chosen as UiTM representatives to be sent for the 11th Annual Chem-E-Car Competition in 2016.

Performance

Design a car that can carry a 100 ml – 500 ml load of water and stop over a specified distance of 15 – 25 m.

Car must be powered and stopped by a chemical reaction(s) only.

The distance and load of water will be assigned randomly by the judges for each group on the day of competition.

Each group will be given two (2) rounds. Each round lasts 6 minutes.

Design an A1-sized poster describing:1. How the car is powered/stopped by the

chemical reaction(s).2. Unique features of the car (depends on

each group).3. Materials used.4. Economic/cost.5. Environmental and safety aspect of the

design.6. Include the name of group.

Design

All components of the car must fit into a normal-sized shoebox.

The car is not allowed to be powered by a battery, emits smoke nor discharge any liquid.

No mechanical force can be applied to the wheel or ground to slow down or stop the car (e.g. brakes).
