Amiloride is a guanidinium group containing pyrazine derivative. Amiloride is a potassium-sparing diuretic, first approved for use in 1967, used in the management of hypertension and congestive heart failure. Amiloride works by directly blocking the epithelial sodium channel (ENaC) thereby inhibiting sodium reabsorption in the late distal convoluted tubules, connecting tubules, and collecting ducts in the kidneys. This promotes the loss of sodium and water from the body, but without depleting potassium. We have successfully synthesized the Amiloride standards. Amlodipine is a dihydropyridine calcium antagonist that inhibits the movement of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle cells and cardiac muscle cells, like other calcium channel blockers, amlodipine lowers blood pressure by relaxing arterial smooth muscles, which decreases total peripheral resistance and therefore reduces blood pressure. Amlodipine is used in the management of hypertension and coronary artery disease. It was commercialised by Pfizer until 2007 when generic entered in the market.

Bicalutamide is used with another medication (gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists, such as leuprolide or goserelin) to treat metastatic prostate cancer. Chlortalidone is a diuretic drug used to treat hypertension, originally marketed as Hygroton in the USA. It is described as a thiazide diuretic compared with other medications of the thiazide class, chlortalidone has the longest duration of action but a similar diuretic effect at maximal therapeutic doses. Daptomycin is a lipopeptide antibiotic used in the treatment of systemic and life-threatening infections caused by Gram-positive organisms. It has a distinct mechanism of action, disrupting multiple aspects of bacterial cell membrane function. It inserts into the cell membrane in a phosphatidylglycerol-dependent fashion, where it then aggregates. The aggregation of daptomycin alters the curvature of the membrane, which creates holes that leak ions. Formoterol is a long-acting α2 agonist (LABA) used in the management of asthma and COPD.
