The 1,3,2,4-dithiastannaboretane (I) bearing an extremely bulky aryl group on the boron atom reacts with dimethyl sulfoxide to form an oxoborane which is stable as dimethyl sulfoxide complex (III) in solution. It reacts with the nitrile oxide (IV) to the 1,3-dipolar cycloadduct (V) and aqueous work-up gives the dihydroxyborane (VI).
