2008 Polyphenyl derivatives Q 0700 Aerobic Ligand-Free Suzuki Coupling Reaction of Aryl Chlorides Catalyzed by in situ Generated Palladium Nanoparticles at Room Temperature. — A detailed study of recently published preliminary results is presented. The Suzuki reaction cata- lyzed by the in situ generated palladium nanoparticles in PEG-400 can be carried out much quicker than using the prepared particles under the same conditions. The arylbo- ronic acids play roles as both a substrate and an assistant reductant and accelerator of the formation of palladium nanoparticles.
