Global Level Global Advisory Committee established, includes IOs,

donors and NGOs. Secretariat in UNICEF.

Regional Level Regional focal points set up in four regions to

facilitate/support UNGEI work at country level.

Country Level UNGEI networks now set up in over 30 countries, mainly in

Africa and South Asia.

The Education for All - Fast Track Initiative (FTI) is a global partnership between developing countries and donors to accelerate progress towards the goal of universal completion of quality primary education by 2015

Partners include more than 30 bilateral and multilateral donor agencies

All low-income countries are eligible for technical and financial support from the FTI

• 2005 study on the integration of gender in the first 12 FTI countries

• 2006 revision of FTI Appraisal and Endorsement Guidelines

• 2007 review of gender component in 3 endorsed plans

• Need for tool to guide partner countries and donors on gender in ESPs
