proved limestone formation upto 244m.RL. The mining lease area is gently
sloping towards north-east side of the lease area '
Drainage Pattern3rt''tt]'r ' ''
The Shivnath river is the main river of the area and forms the main
drainage system. It flows in N-W direction at a distance of 20 kms near Nandghat ,

Method of Estimation of Reserves:
The mining lease area is in gentle sloping flat ground and the limestone deposit is alrqostflat bedded deposit. There is 1.0 m. ( average ) laterite soil found over the limestone deposit. Geological Resewe i.e. Proved , Probable category only . Hence the following importantparameters are considered for estimation of Proved Reserve:

ENVIRONMENT
4.L ENVIRONMENT IMPACT ASSESSMENT STATEMENT
Mining in general affects the environment by way of breaking and defacing theland, removing vegetation, generating dust etc. following are some of the majorimpacts of this mining on environment.
1. Lalod E[vironmentThe proposed mining operations will only be confined to the mining area and
it is not further going to affect the surrounding area. Inside the area, the proposedore production will be carried out by excavation and dumping of chips/fines on theselected area which is barren. The extents of proposed land use, in hectare formining purpose are given below:

(a) Soil and Land use Pattern:
The Mining Lease area is 4.808 Hect. , the lessee will mine in the all area asper proved occurrence of limestone deposit. The area where the actual land usepattern ultimately affected will tje 2.986 hects. for the mining activates duringensuing five years. The waste material what so ever generated will be stacked onthe proposed dump area as per the modihed mining plan. A11 the measures will betaken nbt to disturb the existing land use pattern and to protect the environmenthowever the possibility of marginal change in the existing pattern cannot be ruledout, as it is inevitable in the course of any mining activities.
(b) Land Scope:

pits with all kind of safety. On exhaustion of mineral from the working pits thesame will be reclaimed with the material available in the form of existing dumpss hich rvill be generated.
(e) Public building, places & Monuments:-
There are no public buildings, places or monuments of national importancehence there will not be any adverse impact.
IL Air Ervironment
The main air pollutant would be dust or particulate matter generated byore/waste extraction and handling operations, transportation and screening ofore. The emissions of Sulphur dioxide (SOz). Oxides of Nitrogen (NO2) contributedby diesel operated excavation/ loading equipment and vehicles plying on haul roadsare marginal.
(a) Noiser-
The method of mining will be small mecmachinery, transport vehicles, blastingnoise. A1l the precautions will be taken atlevel below permissible limit.
(bl Air:- r{ }'..,',..,The method oi mining will be mechanized and small scale, The onlyadverse impact will be increase in SPM which will be generated bytransport vehicle. Considering the production and nature of prosperedmining operations SPM level will not be more than the permissible limitof 500 ug/m3 in any case.
(c) Climate condition:-
The area involved in the mining operation is smallregional extent. Therefore, there will be hardly anycondition is envisaged.
Iu. Ecology:-
The mining activity will have sonie temporary elfect on the Ecologr and BioDiversity due to the felling of forest trees and vegetation, However since the depositof ore are not very large and the total mineral available is likely to be exploited\rithin the 10 years of the operation.
IV Socio-Economlc EnviroIrment:
(a) Socia-Demographic:
The mining activity will have a significant impact on the socio demographic prohleof rhe area. The local people have been provided employment as per suitability,\\.hich increase their earnings and is leading in improving the living staTdard. After

the opening of the mine the territory sector like tea shops, Dhabas, vehicle repairsetc. will be open and which will indirectly generate the employment there byimproving the economic status and standard of living.
(bl Occupational and health hazards:
The mining activity of limestone mining does not cause any health hazards for theworkers or the local population because of its non-toxic and neutral nature.Occupational hazards like exposure to noise or dust will be taken care of by theirproper management
(c) Human SettlemeDh
The pattern of human settlement is not be affecting by the mining activity. Locallaborers will be only employed under skilled and unskilled category but due tomining activity there is a possibility of migration of people from the surroundingarea, so there is possibili\r of increase of human settlement. There rvill bedevelopment of infrastructure facilities like roads, transport, housing, school, hospitals.

No wild animals are ever seen although the signs by way of droppings andscratches on the ground indicate the presence of snake, monkeys and otherreptiles.
4.1.7 Sensitive Ecosyste![:Within 10 km radius of the project site, no plant or animal species were found tobe on the endangered list. No ecologically sensitive area like biosphere reserve, national park, wildlife sanctuary, archaeological monuments are present within 10km radius of the project site.
4.2 EITVIRO NMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Lessee will control the environmental risks associated with the Proposal throughimplementation of a structured environmental management system (EMS). TheEMS will reflect the approach defined in the international standard forenvironmental management and is the means by which les iIL sive effect to itsEnvironmental Policy.
This approach is outlined in

Cost of Production : Cost of production is calculated on the basis of cost flgure furnishedin the annual return in RS./MT. The,same is multiplied by the quantity of saleable ore toget the total cast for each year . Reclamation and closure cost @ Rs. 5/- per MT. and Rs.15/- per MT respectively also considered from 5 th year of the project , as mined out areamight not be available {or reclamation at early stage . In this project reclamation will bstarted ifter 10 years. This cost and aspect of reclamation and closure need to be coveredin the Progressive ald Final Mine closure Plan , by iodicating the cost to be incured indifferent phases of mine closure .
