SO YOU WANT TO BE A THEATRE MAJOR?General availability after January 1Grades: HSCost: $10 per personFor students considering a career in the arts, one of the hardest decisions of all can be choosing a college and major--especially in the world of theatre, where there are hundreds of choices of paths to pursue, and hundreds more colleges to choose from. What’s the difference between a

BFA and a BA degree? Is a conservatory approach or a liberal arts program better? What about technical theatre? And above all else--how do you turn a major in theatre into a job in theatre? In conjunction with Sage Studio and Williams Street Repertory, we are proud to offer a new assembly program for high school students, led by two former theatre majors--one who now works as a professional stage manager, the other as a working professional actor and theatre instructor--to help demystify this complex process. The instructors will answer questions from students (and parents), talk about their own experiences, and help guide students towards the theatre career path that’s best for them--as well as the best ways to approach those challenging entrance auditions and interviews. This program can be tailored to meet the needs of your program, and is available during school hours, or as an after-school or evening presentation.
