CCC May 10 2013 Meeting Minutes
The meeting started at 7:08 PM. The April minutes were accepted as read.
The Windy City Classic was a blast. There were 17 contestants!! There
were also many people that fly in contests that didn't enter the fray. They
came to see the show! About 10! Great food thanks Jordy, Marv, Sandy,
Thanks Larry for cooking, AND Thanks Mike for the CD effort, and Colleen
our score keeper. Thanks Mike, Dennis, Dick, and Brad, the most excellent
JUDGES!
Also Mike got the T shirts (mostly) so we used the contest to deliver the
shirts! The blue T shirt order was a little messed up , missing some shirts.
So we put in another order to catch up on the blue ones and finish the
order. Some people used this opportunity to order more shirts that missed
the first order.
Planes for Points:
Alan S. brought in a 1/2A Lil Jumpin Bean. White on White done.(same one
again finished with a Cox Golden Bee .049) Also he brought in two more blue
ones. They have Cox TD .049s on them they look ready to fly. They look
great nice work Alan.
The idea was advanced for people to take pics of their shop / work area.
Forward them to the newsletter editors. They might be included in the
newsletter for people to guess who belongs to that construction debris.
This Sunday June 9th is the Pewaukee Scale / Stunt contest. Hope you can
make it!
We all went for pizza at 7:43 PM

A good time had by all.
An old German Shepherd One day an old German Shepherd starts chasing rabbits and before long, discovers
that he's lost. Wandering about, he notices a panther heading rapidly in his
direction with the intention of having lunch.
The old German Shepherd thinks, "Oh, oh! I'm in deep trouble now!"
Noticing some bones on the ground close by, he immediately settles down to chew
on the bones with his back to the approaching cat. Just as the panther is about to
leap, the old German Shepherd exclaims loudly, "Boy, that was one delicious
panther! I wonder, if there are any more around here?"
Hearing this, the young panther halts his attack in mid-strike, a look of terror
comes over him and he slinks away into the trees.
"Whew!," says the panther, "That was close! That old German Shepherd nearly had
me!"
Meanwhile, a squirrel who had been watching the whole scene from a nearby tree,
figures he can put this knowledge to good use and trade it for protection from the
panther. So, off he goes.
The squirrel soon catches up with the panther, spills the beans and strikes a deal
for himself with the panther.
The young panther is furious at being made a fool of and says, "Here, squirrel, hop
on my back and see what's going to happen to that conniving canine!"
Now, the old German Shepherd sees the panther coming with the squirrel on his
back and thinks, "What am I going to do now?," but instead of running, the dog
sits down with his back to his attackers, pretending he hasn't seen them yet, and
just when they get close enough to hear, the old German Shepherd says....
"Where's that squirrel? I sent him off an hour ago to bring me another panther!"
Exercise if you're over 50
Begin by standing on a comfortable surface, where you have plenty of room at each side.
With a 5-lb potato bag in each hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides and
hold them there as long as you can. Try to reach a full minute and then relax.
Each day you'll find that you can hold this position for just a bit longer. After a couple
of weeks, move up to 10-lb potato bags.
Then try 50-lb potato bags and then eventually try to get to where you can lift a 100-lb
potato bag in each hand and hold your arms straight for more than a full minute. (I'm at
this level.)
After you feel confident at that level, put a potato in each bag.
Joke of the Night:
Blazingly Ripped off from The Tree Town Modelaires Newsletter Peter Mazur – Golf ball and sand wedge: A woman takes a lover home during the day, while her husband is at work. Her 9-year old son comes home unexpectedly, sees them, and hides in the bedroom closet. Then the woman's husband also comes home. She puts her lover in the closet, not realizing that the little boy is in there already. The little boy says, 'Dark in here.' The man says, 'Yes, it is.' Boy - 'I have a golf ball.' Man - 'That's nice.' Boy - 'Want to buy it?' Man - 'No, thanks.' Boy - 'My dad's outside.' Man - 'OK, how much?' Boy - '$250' Man - 'Sold.' A few weeks later, it happens again that the boy and the lover are in the closet together. Boy - 'Dark in here.' Man - 'Yes, it is.' Boy - 'I have a sand wedge. The lover, remembering the last time, asks the boy, 'How much?' Boy - '$750' Man - 'Sold.' A few days later, the boy’s father says to the boy, 'Grab your sand wedge and golf ball, let's go outside and have some short game practice. The boy says, 'I can't … I sold my ball and sand wedge, Dad.'
The father says, 'What? How much did you sell them for?' Boy - '$1,000.' The father says, 'That's terrible to overcharge your friends like that. That is far more than those two things cost. I'm going to take you to church and I want you confess.' They go to the church, and the father makes the little boy sit in the confession booth and he closes the door. The boy says, 'Dark in here.' The priest says, 'Don't start that stuff with me again. You're in my closet now.'
First Stealth Fighter in the Bone Yard
"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog,
conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a
bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve
equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty
meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects."
