In a study conducted at the Medical College of Pennsylvania (see J Nutr. 1992;122:2153- 2160), subjects fed a low-fat diet that included 12 Eggland's Best modified eggs per week and subjects fed a low-fat diet that excluded whole eggs had similar reductions in serum cholesterol. Eggland's Best eggs provide 25% of the RDA for vitamin E and 40% of the RDA for iodine; ordinary eggs provide about 2% and 15%, respectively, of these nutrients. Eggland's Best hens are fed a controlled diet enriched with rice bran, alfalfa meal, kelp, and vitamin E. No animal fat or animal by-products are used; the only added fat is 94% canola oil. Full nutrition labeling is provided on the Eggland's Best carton. Circle 3.
