CHICKEN SNAKE was founded in 2008 by Jerry Teel (Honeymoon Killers, BossHog, Chrome Cranks, Knoxville Girls, Jerry Teel & The Big City Stompers) andhis wife and songwriting partner, Pauline Owens-Teel. (Jerry Teel & The BigCity Stompers).

The band has included many musicians along the way, as The Teels havewandered through the big cities and waded through the backwoods swamps.Both Jerry and Pauline hail from the Deep South, making their visions anddownhome magic a natural extension of their inner spirit and hell-raisingstorytelling.

On the hidden dirt path, their tales include ghosts and graveyards, the Deviland the Sacred Bleeding Heart of Jesus, Whiskey and Sin. On their latestrelease on Beast Records, Jerry and Pauline are joined by Marco Butcher(Jesus & the Groupies, Thee Butchers Orchestra, The Jam Messengers, etc)and Luis Tissot (Hugo Race and The Moses Complex,Thee Dirty Rats, Jesus &The Groupies, etc...). An unholy union sealed at the crossroads at midnight.
CHICKEN SNAKES sound is likened to old rusty train wheels, screeching downa lonesome track at midnight .. Or a Gris-Gris charm made of dirty swampwater, a pinch of graveyard dirt, a few bottles of Whisky & Gin, The Devil andSin, stirred with a handful of rooster feathers - until mixed well.
