Day 1 • Depart USA and Arrive Beijing Depart the USA and cross the international dateline. You will check in yourDeluxe accommodations.

Day 2 • Beijing AB, L, DThis morning, see vast Tiananmen Square and theextravagant Ming-era Imperial Palace in the ForbiddenCity , including the jewelry section. After lunch, visit

  the elegant Summer Palace, a UNESCO WorldHeritage site, with the largest imperial garden in theworld. The grounds include over 3,000 structures witha variety of pavilions, towers and arched bridgessurrounding Lake Kunming with boat ride (weatherpermitting). Tonight, attend a Beijing Duck dinner.

Day 3 • Beijing AB, L, D  A highlight of your trip today as you visit therenowned Great Wall. On the way, if traffic allows, stop tophotograph the iconic "Bird's Nest" – the Beijing NationalStadium–host to many spectacular events of the 2008Summer Olympics. Then arrive at the amazing Great Wall,and walk along its ramparts as emperors once did. Afterlunch, visit a Cloisonné Factory and observe the skilledartisans at work as they create intricate designs. The rest of theafternoon is at leisure to shop and explore on your own, afterenjoying the included group feature - Hutong Tour.

Day 4 • Beijing / Xi'an AB, DSThis morning, visit the exquisite 15th century Temple of Heaven ,renowned for its unique blue dome. See the Imperial Ceiling of Heaven,Echo Wall and the Nine-Dragon Cypress, more than 500 years old.Perhaps shop for local bargains. Then fly to historic Xi'an, former capital of China. Tonight, you are our guest at the celebrated Tang Dynasty dinner

show.

Day 5 • Xi'an AB, L, DSee the extraordinary Terra-Cotta legion of warriors , the Bronze Chariot, buried with theemperor for over 2,200 years, and the Circle

Vision Movie. After lunch, tour to Xi'an CityWall.

Day 6 • Xi'an / Lhasa AB, D  After breakfast, Fly to Lhasa, capital of Tibet where you will begreeted at the airport with a traditional Tibetan welcomeceremony.* The rest of the day is free to adjust to the altitude of one of the world's highest plateaus – about 12,000 feet above sealevel.*Welcome ceremony with 10 or more passengers. If directflight is not available, fly from Xi'an to Chengdu to Lhasa.

Day 7 • Lhasa AB, L, D  An extraordinary day of sightseeingshows Norbulingkha, the Tibetan summerpalace, built by the seventh Dalai Lama in the18th century. Then visit scenic DrepungMonastery, once home to 10,000 Lamas orvisit Sera Monastery to see groups of red-robed young monks debate Buddhist

doctrines in lively traditional style.Day 8 • Lhasa AB, L, DSYou'll not soon forget the spectacular architecture at the world-famous Potala Palace.

Former living quarters of the Dalai Lama, its massive 1,000 roomstructure towers over this mountain city. Continue on to visit thefamous Barkhor Market where you may shop for Tibetan items. At Barkhor Square tour one of Tibet's holiest shrines, revered 7th

century Jokhang Temple, where pilgrims come to worship before the statue of the Sakyamuni Buddha, lavishly enthroned in gold.This evening, enjoy a memorable Tibetan dinner and show.

Day 9 • Lhasa / Chongqing* / Yangtze Cruise AB, L, DThis morning depart for the airport and fly to Chongqing. Sightsee this mountainside city, where neighborhoods rise in tiers along theriverbank above the mighty Yangtze River . Visit Giant Pandas at the Chongqing Zoo. Board a Victoria Cruises ship to begin your memorable

cruise. Enjoy a buffet dinner on board ship.*If direct flight is not available, fly from Lhasa to Chengdu and motorcoach to Chongqing.

Day 10 • Yangtze Cruise Fengdu* AB, L, D At Fengdu, a shore excursion shows Mingshan Hill's unique temples, with statues of ghosts and devils. *Alternate shore excursion may visitnew Immigration Village or Wanzhou.

Day 11 • Yangtze Cruise Qutang Gorge / Small Gorges Excursion / Wu Gorge / Xiling Gorge AB, L, D  An exciting day begins as you cruise through the first of the fabled Three Gorges: Qutang Gorge hemmed by mossy cliffs. Arriving atWushan, transfer to a cruiser for an excursion up the Daning River to view the breathtaking Small Gorges. Continue by sampan to thepicturesque mini-gorges of the Ma Du River with its clear, swift water and unusual rock formations. Alternatively, your excursion may be onShennong Stream with its equally spectacular small gorges. Rejoin your cruise ship and sail on through Wu Gorge, celebrated for its TwelvePeaks, and on through Xiling Gorge, the last and most scenic gorge. Finally, you sail through the Three Gorges ship locks.

Day 12 • Yangtze Cruise Yichang to Shanghai* AB, L, DThis morning, visit the historic Three Gorges Dam at San Dou Ping, the world's largest hydroelectric project. At Yichang, disembark andboard your flight to Shanghai. *If direct flight is not available, travel by motorcoach to Wuhan and fly to Shanghai.

Day 13 • Shanghai AB, L, DSightsee Shanghai's highlights: the Shanghai Museum, with an audio tour describing the special features of the museum's permanentcollections, Children's Palace or Urban Planning Center , Yu Garden and the Old Town , the city's colonial European past at The Bund, themodern Xintiandi, and a renowned Shanghai silk carpet factory. Tonight after dinner, enjoy an astonishing performance of the world-famousShanghai acrobats.

Day 14 • Shanghai ABFull day at leisure to shop and explore this modern cosmopolitan city on your own or take an optional tour.

Day 15 • Journey Home AB After breakfast, your program draws to a close, as we say farewell and board our plane for the U.S.
