OverviewHosted by China International Chamber of Commerce for the Private Sector (CICCPS), the 1st China International Investment and Trade Fair for the Private Sector (CIITF) will be held on October 24-25, 2014 at the Beijing International Convention Center. It is the unique fair for the private sector, aiming to promote enterprises “Going Global”, and strengthen world economic cooperation.

During the past thirty-five years of reform and opening, China’s private sector has expanded continuously, growing from under 100,000 enterprises to over 10,000,000 enterprises at present. Private enterprises not only constitute the majority of Chinese companies in terms of number, they also comprise a major share of the national economic structure. Private economic entities have made an outstanding contribution to China’s economic development, and they are an important component of the national economy.

In the context of globalization, an increasing number of Chinese private enterprises are looking overseas for new opportunities. Due to their unique competitive advantages, these enterprises have become an important force in the “Going Global” of Chinese companies. The world economy is still undergoing deep adjustment after being stricken by the Global Financial Crisis, offering an unprecedented opportunity for the ongoing international development of Chinese private enterprises. At the same time, the Chinese economy is in a key period of adjustment and upgrade as China, once the “factory of the world“, repositions itself.

During the 3rd Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, plans were put forward to give a decisive role to the market in resource allocation, indicating a new era for the development of China’s private sector. This round of reform offers an enormous historical opportunity for private enterprises to develop further.

The CIITF Organizing Committee has extended invitations to various groups both at home and abroad. It has built connections and cooperation with international organizations including United Nations Development Programme, the World Bank, Asian Development Bank and over a hundred overseas investment promotion institutions and foreign Embassies and Consulates in China, with positive feedback from over 30 domestic and international commercial associations and organizations. Another 15,000 overseas Chinese-invested enterprises and over 1,000 private enterprises of a certain size have also been invited to attend. Concurrently, nearly 40 media partners of CICCPS, including CCTV and People’s Daily, will also aid the success of CIITF through their support and reporting coverage.

CIITF aims to promote the healthy, rapid and sustainable development of private enterprises; advance positive and healthy competition and cross-regional cooperation among them; aid them to expand foreign trade, investment & acquisitions and international cooperation; encourage and guide them in innovation and technological advancement; support them to take up more social responsibility; and work together to build a more promising future for China’s private sector.


About the Host Established on November 24, 2011 with approval from the State Council, the China International Chamber of Commerce for the Private Sector (CICCPS) is the first nationwide chamber of commerce in China to specialize in facilitating Chinese private enterprises in “Going Global” missions, while simultaneously promoting international economic cooperation and exchange.

Purpose of SelectionThe selection of the “Top 10 Enterprises” and the “Top10 Leading Figures" highlights the economic development of the private sector, and the continuous and surefooted development of Chinese private enterprises.

AwardsCIITF will select the “Top 10 Enterprises” and the “Top 10 Leading Figures”, and commend them upon their progress and achievements in the “Going Global” strategy. Selection will be conducted under the leadership of the All-China Federation of Industry & Commerce, based on the think tank of CICCPS. Selection of Top 10 Private Enterprises and Top 10 Leading Figures “Going Global”An evening ceremony for the Top 10 Private Enterprises and Top 10 Leading Figures “Going Global” will be jointly organized by the Organizing Committee, CCTV, and renowned domestic media.

After thirty years of rapid development, the Chinese private economy has accounted for half of the national economy, and has contributed 60% of the GDP. Meanwhile, more and more private enterprises have begun to pay attention to overseas markets.

As the special thematic activity of this CIITF, the selection commends and awards the private enterprises and leaders that had made outstanding contributions to economic development and social progress, established good images, and played a leading and exemplary role as well as performed excellently during “Going Global” over the past years. It will demonstrate the achievements made by the Chinese private sector.
