Message

I am pleased to introduce the activities being carried out by the China Study

Center (CSC) at COMSATS University Islamabad. The Center is leveraging the

commonalities in the cultures of the two great countries of Pakistan and

China and celebrating cultural diversity. The Center is actively engaged in

mult i farious research activit ies and hosts a large number of Chinese

educational and business delegations in addition to holding relevant seminars

and conferences.

We are proud of more than 150 of our faculty members, who hold doctorates

from Chinese universities and are currently contributing towards promoting

academic linkages and carrying out science and technology related projects

with counterpart universities and other entities in China.

China Study Center strives to promote people to people contact by arranging visits of students and faculty to

China. The Center also facilitates students in securing scholarships at Chinese universities. The COMSATS

Chinese University Alumni Association is playing a leading role in this e� ort by mentoring aspiring students

and faculty on a regular basis.

One of the foremost objectives of CSC is to prepare the young Pakistani Human Resource for partnership and

employment with Chinese entities. Accordingly we are providing exposure to Chinese language and Culture

including what could be termed as a China-centric skill set. We envisage that Pakistani human resource

would become the natural choice of Chinese companies worldwide.

As the rst incumbent Head of the Center, I would like to thank all my sta� for their immense contribution

towards the ongoing success story of the China Study Center at COMSATS University Islamabad.

Our students participate in summer camp every year at the Beijing Language & Culture Institute

where they are exposed to Chinese culture and get to travel around various arts of China.

Student China Society was established in

2014. Since then a large number of students have become its

members. These students are China lovers and are actively engaged in promoting Chinese culture and

fusing common elements of Pakistani and Chinese Culture. Every year some members of this society visit

China under a cultural exchange program.

负责人致辞我很高兴向大家介绍COMSATS大学伊斯兰堡校区中国研究中心正在开展的有关中国的活动。中国研究中心致力于在充分利用巴基斯坦和中国这两个伟大国家文化的共性的同时颂扬两国文化的多样性。中心还经常组织研讨会/会议，开展相关研究工作。

值得骄傲的是，我们有150多名教职工都是毕业于中国的博士生，他们目前都在大力促进学术联系并开展与中国对口大学和其他企业的科技有关项目。

中国研究中心一直不断努力促进中巴两国的民间交流，我们每年都会安排学生和教师访问中国，也接待大量的中国大学和企业代表团。中心也帮助学生争取奖学金帮他们获得去中国留学的机会。COMSATS中国大学校友会(COMSATS Chinese Universities Alumni Association)在这方面发挥着主要作用，定期对有想法有抱负的学生和教师进行指导。

事件中国研究中心成员与巴基斯坦外交委员会主席兼中巴学会主席、参议员赛义德·穆沙希德·侯赛因。

在中国驻巴基斯坦大使馆举办开放日暨深耕俱乐部活动，这将成为巴中互动的一个焦点。

来自COMSATS大学中国研究中心的学生代表参加了在伊斯兰堡万

豪酒店举办的“五年中巴经济走廊:成功与机遇的故事”研讨会。

2018年4月20日，伊斯兰堡COMSATS大学中国学生协会成员在巴基斯坦议会活动中心参加联合国汉语日活动。

顾问委员会委员中国研究中心的活动由一个由巴基斯坦和中国人士组成的顾问团指导，其中包括在华巴基斯坦研究中心的负责人。董事会会议每年举行一次

中国研究中心第六次顾问团会议于2018年9月15日在拉合尔成功召开。来自中国和巴基斯坦的成员出席了会议。

研究COMSATS大学中国研究中心在中华人民共和国驻巴大使馆的号召下，最近编写了两份研究报告。其中包括对中巴经济走廊背景下中巴科技合作及非政府组织在巴基斯坦的作用的评估。目前，中巴经

文化角由COMSATS大学中国研究中心发起的中巴融合乐队在北京语言文化大学和复旦大学演出，也在中华人民共和国驻巴基斯坦大使馆演出。

“千人唱中华人民共和国国歌活动”在COMSATS大学伊斯兰堡校

区上演�这是中国以外最大规模的国歌演唱阵容。

COMSATS中国研究中心的学生们组织了一场巴中服饰融合时装秀。

2018年3月，由中国驻巴基斯坦大使姚静先生主持开幕的大型文化活动“人民走廊”成功举办。

巴基斯坦和中国艺术家在北京和平博物馆共同创作了一幅书法拼贴画�

中国奖学金咨询委员会越来越多的教职员工以及不同学科背景的学生开始对去中国留学感兴趣，他们不断来咨询大量有关留学中国的问题，为此，中国研究中心特别成立了一个学术咨询委员会，由现在各系任职的、曾毕业于中国各大高校的校友组成。该委员会的成员会分别于每周一在中国研究中心为咨询留学中国事宜的师生进行面对面的交流和指导。

济走廊与俾路支省发展研究也正在我中心进行。由古拉姆-阿里博士编著的《从历史角度看巴中关系》一书于2017年由牛津出版社出版。其作者古拉姆-阿里博士曾担任我中心高级研究员。

学生中国协会组织了一系列文化活动，其中包括太极拳、中国绕口令比赛、扇子舞、舞狮、剪纸和中国风筝比赛。2018 年暑假学生们还访问了中国，参加了北京语言大学组织的夏令营活动，这不仅给学生们提供了到中国旅游的机会更让他们有机会更直接地了解和体验了中国文化。

这些学生都是中国及中国文化的爱好者，他们都亲身参与并积极致力于中国文化的推广。每年，这个协会的某些成员将会有机会参与文化交流计划到中国去访问。

我们的学生每年都去参加北京语言文化大学组织的夏令营活动，在那里他们不仅可以亲身接触到中国文化，还可以到中国各地游览体验不同的中国艺术。

校友成就阿卜杜拉Ÿ夏博士，COMSATS大学伊斯兰堡校区数学系副教授，中国研究中心校友会杰出成员，中国科学院ICMSEC访问科学家(2018)。

访问每年都有大量的中国高校代表团访问COMSATS 大学伊斯兰堡校区，我们也有选择的去到一些 中国的大学访问。访问期间，双方签署了一系列合作意向书。

COMSATS大学伊斯兰堡校区中国研究中心也组织了高级行政官员访问中国的大学和企业。代表团参观了复旦大学(国际关系学院)上海分校、巴基斯坦

驻华大使馆、清华大学、HTC公司等机构、北京化工大学。在访问过程中，代表团重点关注教育、研究、社会、文化和国际化前景等方面的情况，旨在为加强日后两国关系作出应有的贡献。

中国研究中心组织了由中华人民共和国驻巴大使馆科技司一等秘书贾伟先生主讲的“改革开放多年来中国的科技创新成就”专题讲座。
