BEFORE THE DEPARTURE/RETURN OFTHE BOATFORMALITIES AND BOARDING:
All the formalities and the boarding take place every departure day from 3 pm to 6 pm. There is nopoint in arriving before 3 pm because the registration and the boarding cannot start before thistime, being the morning reserved for the return of our previous clients and the preparation of theboat for the following ones.Early check-in: It is however possible to choose the early check-in formula, by agreement with theoffice personnel and according to the availability, at a cost of 50 € (from 11 am).If you think you are going to arrive late instead, it’s necessary that you ring the base to let us know.If we’re aware, and you’re only a little delayed, we will stay until you get there. If you’re going to bevery late, we will give you instructions about going on board, and we will do the check-in thefollowing morning.
Do remember there may be several other boats starting on the same day as you, so please bepatient and remember that the staff can’t look after everybody at the same time. Relax on boardand please wait your turn.You should never expect to do any cruising on the first day; you will generally spend the first nightat the base.
We suggest you empty your suitcases straight away and put them back in your car; otherwise theywill take up valuable storage space on board. If you come by train or plane, ask the base to keepyour suitcases until you return.
Before you unpack your belongings/luggage, check the inventory of your boat, the condition of thefenders and the safety equipment. Please notify us immediately if something is broken or missing.An employee to do the following formalities (it will take between 30-45 minutes). Our base staff willbe delighted to advise you about your cruising plans. A technician will explain you the engine andthe boat’s equipment... If you are unsure of anything, please ask for further explanation.

> INSURANCE & CAUTION:
1) Insurance: it covers damage to the boat, its equipment or caused to third parties by the use of the boat. The captain of the boat will contribute to the costs arising from any damage, up to the full amount of the security deposit. The insurance does not cover what islisted in point 5 of this paragraph "Exclusions from the guarantees of insurance".

2) Damage deposit: it is a guarantee of payment in favour of the captain for the sums due by the driver in the event of a claim (damage, loss and damage to third parties) and in the cases listed in point 5 of this paragraph "Exclusions from the guarantees of insurance".
3) Damage waiver (optional): this insurance will exempt you of the costs due by the event of a claim.
4) Reduced deposit: it is a guarantee of payment in favour of the captain for the sums due bythe driver in the cases listed in point 5 of this paragraph "Exclusions from the guarantees ofinsurance". It will have to be paid both by those who choose the damage waiver and by those who choose the All-inclusive Package.
5) Exclusions from the guarantees of insurance:- The occupants of the boat and their civil liability; theft and damage to their property and valuables;- Damage to the boat, breakage or loss of on-board equipment due to negligence (ex. burning of the worktop, tearing of the curtains, loss of the gangplank or fenders, breakage of glasses and dishes, etc.);- Damage to the terrace, the flying bridge, the sun-deck and external accessories caused by strong wind or poorly aware navigation (against locks, bridges, etc.);- Towing, removal and detachment and damage to the hull in dry areas;- Damage to the propeller;- Maintenance operations due to incorrect use of on-board systems (ex. wc, bow thruster, etc.);- Penalties for fines. Deliberate violation of navigation regulations;- Abandonment of the boat during the cruise or delayed return of the boat to the base;- Misleading declaration.

> DIESEL FUEL ADVANCE:
At the start of your cruise, your diesel tank will be full. According to the type of boat, the tank givesa range of at least 40 engine hours.At your departure, the base will ask for an ≪advance on fuel≫ which will be deducted at the endof your cruise.

The consumption is calculated according to the real number of hours you cruised, shown by thetime meter in the boat and on the basis of the consumption as shown in the table below. If you staylonger, our team will tell you how to proceed.You don’t have to pay the advance if you take the All Inclusive Pack .≪ ≫The 220V current generator, the heating and the production of hot water of certain boats is bydiesel. A separate time meter for the boiler will show how long it ran. The lump sum prices can be modified at any moment, depending on the fuel price.
> PARKING:
It is about 800 m from the base (8,00 € / day). Please note that our bases do not acceptresponsibility for theft, loss or damage to your car while it is parked. Parking is always at theowner’s risk. The fee charged is for parking your car and not for care taking. We do NOT acceptresponsibility for any injuries to people either. Do not forget to lock your car and to switch the radioand lights off.
> BED PREPARATION:
When you arrive you will find bed sheets and towels. You will have to take care of theirarrangement, but if you prefer we can make your beds at a cost of 10,00 € per person.
> FINAL CLEANING:
The day of the return, you will have to give the boat back, cleaned inside as well as outside.If you do not wish to do it, you can choose the fixed cleaning service. This means the staff of thebase will take charge of the cleaning.Nevertheless, we will ask you, before returning the boat:
To wash the dishes and store them, To throw the rubbish in the rubbish bins provided, To empty and arrange the closets and the drawers, To strip the beds.
We would have to charge for 2 cleaning services if you do not respect those instructions. The cleaning service is included also in the All Inclusive Pack .≪ ≫

> PETS:
Dogs and other domestic animals are welcome on board. Verify that the animal is vaccinated andmake sure you provide essential equipment for your animal; you will not find it neither on board norat the base. At your departure, you will have to pay € 40,00 for each animal. Please ensure that your pet does not sleep on the bedding.
> BICYCLES:
Bicycles are a great complement to a cruise. They allow you to move away from the river or canal,when you stop, so that you can discover the surrounding countryside. They are very useful to goshopping in the cities and towns nearby. Bikes provided by us are folding and the hire costs 6,00 €/day/bicycle.It is better to reserve your bicycles in advance. Of course we always try to provide the bikesordered in advance, but cannot guarantee it.

Bicycles are not insured against theft, you are responsible for them.Helmets aren’t supplied.
> HIRING OF DINGHIES:
This useful addition will be particularly appreciated by fishermen, ornithologists and nature-lovers.It will allow you to go in the most hidden corners or to land while your boat can remain at anchor ina well sheltered bay. In a dinghy/small boat, everybody must wear a life-jacket. It is definitely forbidden to be in a dinghywhile it’s being towed. Attention, the number of dinghies is limited. Order early directly at yourdeparture base.
> Wi-Fi:
Stay connected during your holiday! PC, tablets and smartphones always online!It’s possible to reserve a mobile Wi-Fi modem that travel at the speed of 4G to take with you duringyour cruise. The modem connects to the internet using 4G, 3G and 2G networks. You can connectto the device in USB or Wi-Fi, and it supports up to 10 simultaneous connections.

> METHODS OF PAYMENT:
You have the following methods of payment on site for the damage deposit and other extras: creditcard Visa or MasterCard. Of course you can also pay with cash (it’s obligatory for the shopping basket service) but forsecurity reasons, our base prefer cashless payment.
> RETURN OF THE BOAT:
The return of the boat is proceeded at 9 am. Please respect the time for the return of your boat, asthe next customer is taking charge of the boat on the same day. We recommend to come back tothe base the evening before.Boat return formalities:
Return your boat in a generally good condition (see Final Cleaning ).≪ ≫ Return the extra hired or borrowed equipment (bicycles, etc.). Pay the diesel consumption (if you have not chosen the All Inclusive Pack )≪ ≫ The damage deposit will be withheld for maximum 21 days to cover possible damages and/
or obligations towards a third party We remind you that you are responsible for the boat and its equipment in case of damages
or accidents. Think about the following customers that will take your boat and report to the reception any
kind of problems you have had.If you choose to return the boat before scheduled time (e.g. for personal reasons) or if you want topick up your car earlier, please inform the base in time. It’s possible it is not open outside thedeparture days.In case of a late return, the base may charge you with a half or a full day of your hire price.The lessor reserves the right to recover from the hirer any expenses incurred as a result of anabandonment of the boat during the cruise.
SAFETY ON BOARDYour boat is duly registered by an official insurance company as well as by the authorities.It meets all the security conditions required by the law.You have to contribute to the active safety of your boat and its crew:
By taking the precaution of holding your children and your animals inside the boat whilegoing through a lock or mooring.

DISTINGUISH YOUR CREW AND CRUISE IN STYLE
By wearing suitable shoes. By keeping minimum order on board. By taking care to roll up your ropes after each maneuver. By taking care while jumping off the boat. By explaining to the crew that they should never roll a mooring rope up around their wrist or
ankles or try to stop the boat with their feet. By never keeping the boat hook in front of your body.
Attention! Never forget to hold the boat with one hand and keep the other one free to be used.
INVENTORY OF SAFETY EQUIPMENT
Extinguisher . Each boat is provided with extinguishers. Check where they are during yourintroduction to the boat in the base. If you have to use them during your cruise, please don’tforget on your return to the base to let them know.
Anchors . All our boats are equipped with an anchor which would be your safety aid in theevent of a breakdown or of a wrong maneuver near a dam. Before throwing the anchorsover board, first make sure that the rope or the chain is firmly attached to the boat. Let itunravel to the maximum (approx. 30 m).
Lifebuoy and life-jackets. All our boats are supplied with a lifebuoy and sufficient life-jackets. If you travel with children, request life-jacket for their size before you leave thebase (starting from 10 kg). Order matching life-jackets 10-15 days before your departure.
IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT
Please call the base immediately; our employees will help you and give you all the instructionsand, if necessary, will send someone out to help you. In case of an accident with a third part, it isthe captain’s responsibility to fill in an accident statement (a specimen is in the board documents),not forgetting to note names and addresses of the witnesses.Attention: Like on the road, never sign a declaration admitting your responsibility.Take immediately a picture of the boat after the accident, in particular of the damage on both boatseven the other one.In case of doubt or of disagreement, it is better to wait for a member of our base or someone fromthe police. In a lock, you have the right to ask for a report on the accident to the lock keeper.
IN CASE OF A BREAKDOWN
Fortunately, breakdowns are rare but can happen. They can be of any nature: a problem with theengine, electric problems, problems with the heating.If a breakdown occurs, call your base immediately (you will find the number in the boat usersbook). Please be reminded that the breakdown service is included in the hire price and is at your disposal.Some problems can be solved directly by phone.Please give the following information when you call:
Your name and the name of your boat The precise location where you are The nature of the breakdown (according to your observations) A phone number, where you can be reached and the time of your call.
It is generally recommended to give your phone number on your arrival so that we can contact youin any case. A technician will come as soon as possible, but give him some time to arrive. Do not try to fix theproblem by yourself.If the problem of your boat is not related to a purely technical reason, and you are able to sail,repairs will be done only in dry land (e.g. Fusina or Portegrandi).

Marco Polo Airport in Venice (about 60 Km from Chioggia) and Canova Airport inTreviso (about 80 Km from Chioggia) are the nearest airports to Chioggia.- From the Marco Polo Airport to Venice (Piazzale Roma), get on the bus line ACTVn.5 AEROBUS (the bus stop is just outside the airport, service frequency: every 15minutes, duration: 20 minutes, ticket price: about 8,00 €). When you get in Venice –Piazzale Roma, catch the bus line ARRIVA VENETO nr. 80 or 85 (service frequency:every 30 minutes, duration: 1 hour and 15 minutes, ticket price: about 6,40 €). Get off

Get off in Sottomarina (last bus stop). From the bus station to our baseit takes about 5/10 minutes on foot.- If you arrive at the Marconi Airport in Bologna, get on the Aerobus shuttle – BLQ(service frequency: every 15 minutes, ticket price: about 6,00 €) that in just 25 minuteswill take you to the Railway Station of Bologna. From Bologna catch the train toRovigo and in Rovigo catch the regional train to Chioggia (total duration: about 2hours and a half, ticket price: about 25,00 €), and get off at the last stop. Then fromthe railway station in 20 minutes you will get to our base walking across Chioggia (oldtown centre). Two places linked by history and tradition. Sottomarina is animportant bathing centre with modern and efficientaccommodation. Chioggia is a town to visit in tranquillity andperhaps by bike.Sottomarina is a stretch of land of almost 10 kilometres thatfronts the Adriatic Sea. It continues beyond the mouth of theBrenta until the mouth of the Adige. It was once famous forits land suitable for growing vegetables. It was an active and flourishing centre governed by a Tribuneand fractions of the nearby Chioggia.Today the bathing resort is appreciated for its fine sandybeaches rich in minerals, such as clay, quartz, silica andmicaceous elements, which make it suitable for sand-bathingand sun treatments.The wide bay is an ideal place to take long walks, while themodern bathing infrastructure allows thousands of tourists tospend their holiday in complete relaxation every year. Thereis a wide range of accommodation at Sottomarina, which

offers hotels in all categories, campsites, and bed and breakfasts. There are also manyopportunities to entertain oneself: amusement parks, volleyball and basketball courts, tenniscourts, small piers for water sports, canoeing, hire centres for windsurfing, and even horse- riding.The nearby Chioggia, a town characterized by its herring-bone urban planning, can be visited intranquility, perhaps by bike, as this is a place that holds many surprises. Le TEGNUE of Chioggia. The Tegnue are, in Veneto dialect, those particular rocky substrata,typical in certain zones of watery depths, at the north of the Adriatic, well-known by localprofessional fishermen because they “hold back” and cut the drag nets which have the misfortuneto land on them.
These formations normally reach some hundreds of meters squared of surface area, with formsand structures that are somewhat distinct and despite being isolated, they are not at all rare.Even if they represent a minimal fraction of the surface of the sea bed, the Tegnue constitute animportant “oasis” for typical fish species of “hard” substrata, and increase the biological diversity,offering a greater number of ecological niches and constitute an excellent shelter for thereproductive phases of numerous marine organisms.Their name is derived from the word in dialect which means “held”, which in local sailors’ jargon, has come to mean those underwater elements which present themselves as obstacles to fishing lines. We are speaking of underwater depths with rocky formations, with an average depth between 19and 22 meters. They are simply generic immersions, but at the same time they are fantastic for allto observe. In fact, the Tegnue represent the ideal habitat for the Conger, European Lobster,Corvine and a multitude of local fauna which in these areas are not disturbed by fishing lines. Aunique Tegnua does not exist, rather tens and tens, all strongly characterized by type of seabed,depth, level and cracks which give refuge to passing fish, European Lobsters and colouredSpanish Dancer.
