1. Overview DTU (IP Modem or M2M) used for serial port device data transpare transmit. The document

describes how to use the Chonghan CH-D2 series wireless DTU and FAQ. The aim to help user easy and quick to test, use and disposition the DTU.

Note: Though all features are documented in this manual, new features may still be in beta stage at publication and therefore may not yet be validated. Please refer to the Customer Release Note for complete and detailed information regarding beta and validated features at time of release.

adopted in numerous industrial and civilian fields. Shenzhen Chonghan Co., Ltd. a leader of wireless communication equipment manufacturer releases the CH-D2 Series Wireless DTU, which support various frequency bands of GSM/GPRS, and provide industrial terminal solutions for 2.5G communication. As a wireless modem, it support AT+i command config via RS-232/RS-485/TTL interface.

CH-D2 series wireless DTU adopts industrial level modules, specially designed for the complicated industrial environment which compatible with EMC, and will be your best choose of wireless communication.

Assemble the antenna, power adapter, connect the DTU to PC via RS-232 serial cable, open

the back cover, insert SIM card, at last, power on.

Note: Don’t insert or remove the SIM card in the power on statu.

After setting and power on, DTU 1 will establish data channel to others DTU. And all DTU 1 serial port income data (after process) will output to special DTU serial port. And others DTU serial port income data will send to DTU 1 serial port as transparent transmit.

The master DTU serial port income data should as the format below: destination phone number + 0x00 + data. For example: send string “hello!” to 13800000002, the income data HEX format is: <0x31><0x33><0x38><0x00><0x00><0x00><0x00><0x00><0x00><0x00><0x32><0x20><0x31><0x20><0x48><0x65><0x6C><0x6C><0x6F><0x21>

The slave DTU still sending data as transparent transmit.

6.5. Relate Setting

6.5.1. Whitelist DTU support whitelist function. If the whitelist set, only income SMS which phone number in

the whitlist will output to the serial port, other wise the SMS will be ignored. at+csmwl=1,13800000001<cr> // accept 13800000001 SMS only

The whitelist and blacklist should only use one. Avoid logic error.

6.5.2. Blacklist DTU support blacklist function. If the blacklist set, the income SMS which phone number in

the blacklist will be ignore, other wise the SMS will output to the serial port. at+csmbl=1,13800000001<cr> // refuse 13800000001 SMS

The whitelist and blacklist should only use one. Avoid logic error.

7. Device ID DTU support the HEX device ID function. If the device ID set, the device ID will auto added to
