Buckinghamshire County Council School Improvement Service Chris Lloyd-Staples Deputy School Improvement Manager [email protected] Chris led large science departments in two very successful schools in Hertfordshire before becoming a Senior Adviser in Buckinghamshire. He is a Chartered Science Teacher, an accredited School Improvement Partner in both primary and secondary phases, and has worked as an Ofsted Inspector. Recent work has included training schools on APP and AfL, supporting teachers in difficulty, and evaluating the effectiveness of school intervention. Chris has led whole-school and subject reviews in schools in a number of Local Authorities, and is very experienced in developing senior and middle managers in both primary and secondary schools. He recently completed a research doctorate in the management and embedding of educational change, and he is thus well aware of the typical difficulties facing schools at this time. Buckinghamshire is a very high-performing LA but has its share of challenging schools; Chris has been responsible for standards and the quality of support in the secondary sector. He has developed 14-19 partnership work between diverse secondary schools, and is currently working on links between primary and secondary sectors.
