OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Founded in the good news of Christ that “God so loved the world that he gave (us) his only Son” (Jn 3:16) and knowing that he (Christ) “came that we might have life—life in all fullness” (Jn 10:10) and rooted in Jesus’ command to “Love one another as I have loved you” (Jn 13:34), we the members of Christ the Redeemer Parish commit ourselves:

to the date of marriage. All are
required to participate in a marriage
preparation program. Please call the
office to make an appointment.

WEATHER CANCELLATIONS
Christ the Redeemer will follow the Federal
Government weather closings and delays
for weekday and Saturday morning Masses.
When the Federal Government closes or
has a delayed opening, morning Mass is
cancelled. In order to avoid risking your
personal safety, please use wise discretion
when travelling in severe weather. 7 CAR WASH
As you get your car washed, help the
poor and needy. We receive 10% of
what CTR parishioners pay. As you
pay at the carwash, sign the book so we
receive their donation.

STUDY—FALL 2017
EXODUS
Come, join the Little Rock Bible
Study of Exodus. The central event
of the Old Testament will introduce
themes fundamental to the entire
Bible. The study begins on
Wednesday, Sept. 6 and continues
for 10 weeks. Meetings will be held
in the CTR Library on Wednesday

What an awesome month: the basement and pantry are re-stocked and the LINK
treasury has increased funds to purchase perishable food items and/or assist our
financially challenged neighbors with their emergency rent or utility needs. Thank

thank you to all that volunteered their help and stood out in the sun to receive these
wonderful donations. The extra effort on the part of our volunteers to be personally
present to receive and acknowledge donations from all

PRAY FOR PEACE SERVICE Please join us on Saturday August 11
for our monthly parish Pray for Peace
service. We meet in the church near the
choir area at 4:30 p.m. The service
includes the Scriptural Rosary for
Justice and Peace and listening to
God’s word in scripture. It lasts until

INITIATION
RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION FOR ADULTS (RCIA)
“This is my beloved Son”
Today we celebrate The Transfiguration of the Lord. Both the First Reading and
the Gospel describe such an event in terms of honor and glory. St. Peter, offers us
the credibility of being an eye-witness. Yet, even he goes on to say that more than
hearing the Divine Word speak of the beloved Son, “...we possess the prophetic
message that is reliable.”
This prophetic message is none other than the Good News, the kerygma, the heart
of our faith. Be it in Jesus’ message, “The Kingdom is at hand” or in the entire
being of his life, death, resurrection. Or in the intimate relationship of Father to
Son and the Love between them.
Today we hear and see what is both here and heavenly.
We should strive to root our faith experience in being transformed by
God’s Love, adopted as we are, as his sons and daughters.
