Who is the Head? There are points in every Christian’s life when one must decide who is really in charge. Most of us will admit that our wives are really in charge or perhaps it is our secretary (wink wink). The busier things get, the more I realize I am not nearly as in charge as I often think. “And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.” (Colossians 1:1718) Have you ever considered what “All things hold together in Christ” means? As we get “too busy”, have too much stress, feel like we are overwhelmed, get angry, feel out of control, or just don’t like what is going on, understand that the problem is more likely that you think you have more control than you really do. Realize that Jesus is the head of every Christian and over the whole church. Jesus alone holds the reins in this life. People can “try to do it ourselves,” but in the end, we are only capable of so much. It is our decision to follow Him or to reject Him. He can and will give us insight if we seek His wisdom and truth. God is doing something special here at FCC. A new building, new staff and new positions, and volunteers helping everyday! Don’t forget Who is in charge! It is not me, and I am sure it is not you! Use the gifts God has given you to meet any needs you see in the church, and give the rest up to God, and let Him be in control. If you see a need that you have the ability to meet, there is a really good chance that God is using you to do ministry! Are you willing to stand up and let Him use you or are you going to pass the buck? Who is the Head? There are points in every Christian’s life when one must decide who is really in charge. Most of us will admit that our wives are really in charge or perhaps it is our secretary (wink wink). The busier things get, the more I realize I am not nearly as in charge as I often think. “And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.” (Colossians 1:17–18)

Have you ever considered what “All things hold together in Christ” means?

Dearest FCC family, the family of Mary Lou Brinkmeyer would like to thank you for the beautiful plant you sent us when our mother passed away. A big thank you also for the very nice dinner you prepared for us after her funeral. It was so nice to have a place to go and not have to prepare the food ourselves. We could sit down and visit with our family and friends during this difficult time. God bless you all and thanks again, Karen & Mick Brinkmeyer, Chris & Davis Brooks.

Hey everybody! We had an awesome time at Worlds of Fun this past Thursday, lots of fun and very little sickness! We had 40 students that went and 5 adults so we were filled to the brim in our vans but we got there and back in one piece! I’ve got some announcements for you this week…

Thank You!... We would like to thank you to everyone who came to support the ice cream social and to help raise funds for the Haiti House of Bread Mission Medical trip in March 2017. You are all amazing and appreciated! Team Haiti

Legacy is starting back up Sunday, August 21! We will be meeting in the church Fellowship Hall as usual at 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thank you guys for doing all that you do! Brett Hartman, Youth Minister

Hey, Everybody… it’s...

Dan says: It’s gotta get worse before it gets better! Seriously when you see one of these 3 men (Mike Zentner, Dan Dulin, Wayne Hulett) give them a really big “at a boy!” Also to Gary Benjamin who would supervise break time with donuts! They have spent many hours moving items out of the rooms that needed to be emptied before our big demo day! I have enjoyed listening to all the laughter as they worked side by side…they had great teamwork!

The Opportunity Sunday School Class would like to have a card shower for one of their class members, Opal Meyers who will be moving at the end of the August to Oklahoma to be closer to her daughter and family. Please send cards and best wishes to: Opal Meyers – 105 Park Plaza #15, Garnett KS, 66032

Opal says: It doesn’t get any better than this! Betty Penn and Opal Meyers have been our Sunday Bulletin folders for many years now. They both have so many stories to tell past and present and will miss those stories and the laughter for our dear friend Opal is moving to Oklahoma near the end of August t be near family. Opal has been an active member of First Christian Church since 1948. The Christian Crafters came over last Thursday and ate lunch with her and to wish her good luck!

Day 1 of Demo Day… Roger Adams was here early this morning and making some noise…
