What seems somehow profound, is in reality silly: Quote: “The only afterlife that should concern us is leaving our descendants a secure and pleasant future.” Anne Laurie Gayler, Co-founder of Freedom from Religion Foundation. Sonny’s Note: Just what future was that? Oh yes, it’s called dirt.

Olympian sleepover last weekend: 98 kids, 30 workers.
I have a friend who filled his car with gas at a self-service gas station. After he had paid and driven away, he realized that he had left the gas cap on top of his car. He stopped and looked and, sure enough, it was lost. Well, he thought for a second and realized that other people must have done the same thing, and that it was worth going back to look by the side of the road since even if he couldn't find his own gas cap, he might be able to find one that fit. Sure enough, he hadn't been searching long when he found a gas cap. He tried it on, and it went into place with a satisfying click. "Great," he thought, "I lost my gas cap, but I found another one that fits. And this one's even better because it locks..."

Is Anyone Surprised? Abstinence only education programs could lose federal funding in a new proposal from President Obama. According to the Christian Post, the proposal would eliminate funding for abstinence only programs in the 2017 budget year. The programs typically receive an annual $10 million grant.
Vacation Bible School - June 27-July 1, 2016 Looking for teachers and volunteers for that week. Please see Brenda Landry 860-456-8840 if you have any questions.
Thanks everyone for all your prayers, we really felt your support and encouragement despite the distance. For those who don´t know this is our 5th year having summer camp. We had great weeks full of blessings, 118 campers and by God’s grace 49 received Christ as Savior and 79 consecrated their lives to God. Please pray for them. It was amazing to hear them share their testimonies and decisions, how they came to camp and how God worked in their lives during the week. The Teens come from many churches in the area and camp encourages them to serve the Lord in their local churches, preach the Gospel to those unsaved, counsel them in specific areas of their Christian walk and encourage them to grow in knowledge of the Word of God. Many are interested in participating in our Bible study center this year. We had 102 teenagers ages 13-21 from two different states in Argentina and around 10 different churches. From our church in Salta we were able to bring 3 unsaved girls and 6 Teens who are already going to church with us. The camp lasted from Monday to Saturday. The campers enjoyed a great message every morning from a pastor/missionary in Northern Brasil, who graduated from WOL Argentina and studied with Lucio. After the Bible lesson they had quiet time/devotions with their counselors, then game time, lunch, sports and pool time. Throughout the day the counselors would sit down and talk to each one of the teens, to make sure they are saved, give them security of salvation and encourage and counsel them on areas in their life that they are struggling with. Despite the fact that Lucio and I were alone this year in the organization, etc., God provided an excellent team to help us with the cooking, games, recreation, decoration, counseling, cleaning, etc., and we can´t even begin to share everything the Lord has done during that week!!! There is so much work to do, so we continue to ask for your prayers as we continue the work the Lord has called us to do!! Pray for us, we have a lot of activities coming soon. We want to do what God wants for us. We thank God and ask for your prayers for new staff members Nathan, Cindy and Abigali Erickson. We know that God has great things for them and through them. Thanks for all you do!!! God Bless, Lucio & Amanda (formerly Wight) Gallo, CFC missionaries in Argentina.
From our missionaries in Costa Rica “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” Psalm 90:12 Time is running out and Psalm 90 reminds us of the brevity of life. For that reason we need to serve the Lord, seek His mercy, keep in mind how precious is life and that we need to use our remaining days in a way that will be pleasing to Him.”
