You can choose from a wide range of activities whether you’re staying with us on your own or want to bring the whole family to try an exciting stay.

We have arranged a lot of new breaks for 2014, so there’s more chance for you to try a new hobby. Best of all you’ll meet like-minded people, and we’re sure you’ll make new friends.

You can choose what you do on a themed break too. So if you decide to visit a local tourist attraction during your stay, that’s up to you – you’re not obliged to take part in every activity because it’s all about you doing what you enjoy when you take a well-earned break.

We’ve got new themed holidays and breaks this year at our exclusive collection of hotels. We’re also introducing a new concept with ‘Stay As You Please’: it’s where you choose to stay at any of our fabulous hotels and we help guide you to the areas of interest or tourist destinations in the local area. It means you can stay at any time and don’t have an arranged itinerary.

This year also sees the introduction of two new partnerships with Ramblers Worldwide and Robinsons Holidays. All the holidays use Christian Guild hotels and provide a wider scope of holiday options for everyone.

We’ve been welcoming guests for nearly a century, and we’re always encouraged as we welcome guests back each year. We see a high percentage of people returning to stay with us, and we’re always delighted when you choose to holiday with us again.

Sarah Bell is a Devon-based artist whose paintings are a celebration of light and colour. She trained as an illustrator at Kingston University in Surrey, and then worked as Artist in Residence for Kenneth Branagh’s Renaissance theatre company before spending nine years in Amster-dam. On moving to Devon she began teaching her popular Watercolour Work-shops, continues her illustration work featured on the Country Lives series on ITV, and in Devon Today magazine, and now paints and illustrates full time at her studio in Newton Abbot and on location

Perhaps the most unspoilt river valley in Britain, the Wye flows though breath-taking scenery rich in Welsh and English history. The area enjoys a relatively mild climate and its vineyards continue a tradition probably started by the Romans. The 800 year old ruins of Tintern Abbey still stand tall, and further downstream lies the historic border town of Chepstow with its early Norman Castle. We’ll follow sections of the Wye Valley Walk, the Offa’s Dyke Path and surrounding trails meandering along the hillsides high above the river, emerging into superb viewing points such as Symonds Yat Rock, the Devil’s Pulpit and the Eagle’s Nest. We will discover the myths and legends of these borderlands, visiting the castle at St Briavels and the Naval Temple near Monmouth.

offa’s Dyke – lindors country House HotelA walk through an ancient fortified borderland from Kington to Chepstow

The Offa’s Dyke Path runs for 177 miles from Prestatyn on the North Wales coast to Chepstow on the Severn Estuary. The route follows the 8th century barrier built by Offa, the King of Mercia, to protect his kingdom from his rivals in what is now Wales. We’ll walk the southern 65 miles of the route from the traditional English town of Kington to the city gates of Chepstow in six sections during the week, returning each night to our comfortable hotel. The trail covers one of the hidden jewels of the Welsh crown! Along the way we’ll encounter Hay-on-Wye at the end of one of the best day’s walking; the highest part of the trail on the Hatterall Ridge crossing the Black Mountains; and join the Wye Valley to pass Tintern Abbey as we walk towards Chepstow.

Robinsons Holidays have been providing affordable, quality coach holidays from its East Lancashire base for the past 90 years.

With Robinsons, passengers’ comfort and safety are a priority and their fleet of modern coaches all offer extra legroom, air-conditioning, washroom and WC facilities. All of their tours also have numerous and regular comfort stops en-route to their destination.

Robinsons have an extensive network of feeders which allow them to operate over a large geographical area, and currently pick-up in the following areas: Cumbria; Lancashire; Merseyside; Cheshire; North Wales; Greater Manchester; Staffordshire; Yorkshire; Derbyshire; Mansfield; and Nottingham.

Interchanges for Abbot Hall tours are Lymm Services (M6 J20), and Forton Services (near M6 J33). Interchanges for the other four hotels’ tours are Lymm Services and Hilton Park or Frankley Services.

Passengers can opt to join the tour coaches at the relevant interchange, but there is a car parking charge at Lymm. Robinsons operate a door-to-door service at a supplement, charged on a per-person, per-journey basis (minimum 2 people) for those who wish to be collected at home and taken directly to the relevant interchange.

There are five lodges in the grounds of Abbot Hall Hotel and Lindors Country House Hotel.

There are four two-bedroom lodges at each hotel, each sleeping four guests. The fifth lodge has three bedrooms, accommodating six guests, making it ideal for larger families. Each lodge is fully equipped with central heating, lighting, bed linen and towels.

While staying in the lodges you are free to use all the facilities of the hotel, including the all-weather swimming pools. If you prefer not to self-cater you can arrange to book meals in the hotel. Throughout your stay you will be welcome to join in any planned activities.

familiarisation VisitsWe believe it’s important for our group organisers to be sure about the accommodation and the holiday they are booking on behalf of their group. For this reason we are happy to offer familiarisation visits to any of our Hotels

Designed to help you plan your trip, we can offer the group organiser plus one other an overnight stay (subject to availability) at your chosen hotel. This visit will give you the opportunity to check out the accommodation and facilities, which in turn will enable you to plan your stay with us more effectively.

TERMS & coNDiTioNSHOTEL BOOKING CONDITIONSa) Terms are per person per night, inclusive of VAT.b) Half Board includes dinner, bed and breakfast from

evening meal on day of arrival to breakfast on day of departure. No allowance can be made for meals not taken.

c) Special diets or other requirements will, whenever possible be catered for if Managers are informed when booking.

d) No single room supplement is charged. However, the number of single rooms is limited and we reserve the right to restrict the number of double or twin rooms allowed for single occupancy.

e) Guests unable to vacate the premises by themselves, in case of emergency, must be accompanied by friends or relatives.

f) Car parking is entirely at the owner’s risk.g) Dogs or other pets cannot be taken, with the exception of

registered assistance dogs for people with disabilities.h) We ask our customers not to bring or consume their own

alcoholic drinks on the premises.i) Bookings should be made with the hotel of your choice. A

non-refundable deposit of £50.00 per adult (£10 per child 5 years and over) per week or part thereof, is due with each booking, payments accepted by cheque, credit/debit card. Full payment is due one calendar month prior to the commencement of your stay. The deposit per lodge is £100; see lodge booking conditions below.

j) Credit card payments will incur an additional charge of 1.5%

k) Bookings generally can only be accepted for a type of room, eg. Superior, En-suite or Non en-suite. Specific room requests will be considered, however this will be subject to availability and hotel general manager

agreement. Acceptance of a booking with specific room request will incur a fee of £15 per room per week. (Not applicable to disability friendly bedrooms).

l) VAT at 20% is included in the terms shown but will be charged at any changed rate applicable at the time of payment for the holiday.

m) We reserve the right to alter our published Terms in extreme circumstances including changes in taxation.

n) If in exceptional circumstances, we find that we are unable to offer the accommodation booked, a full refund will be given unless alternative accommodation is agreed.

o) If we have to make a significant change or cancel a themed break we will tell you as soon as possible. You will be offered an alternative holiday or receive a full refund. Where our liability is limited we will not pay any expenses, costs or losses you may incur as a result of any change or cancellation. No compensation is payable for minor changes or where we cancel or make a significant change before the date of the balance of your holiday costs falls due. Minor changes do not entitle you to cancel or change to another holiday without paying our normal charges.

p) The company reserves the right to charge guests for all damage to hotel property.

LODGE BOOKING CONDITIONS The above hotel booking conditions apply as appropriate to lodge bookings. Terms are per lodge per night, inclusive of VAT, on a self-catering basis with a minimum stay of three nights except as indicated elsewhere in this brochure. The deposit payable per lodge is £100 and payments should be made in accordance with our hotel booking conditions.

INSURANCE When you book a holiday you are entering into a legally binding contract, which, if cancelled or curtailed, will incur a cancellation charge.The company does not offer any form of holiday insurance or cancellation cover.As a Christian organisation we feel it important, and would strongly recommend, that all guests comprehensively insure their holiday against all eventualities with an insurer of their choice.Guests from outside the UK must be covered by adequate insurance covering cancellation, sickness, accident or other misfortune.

cANcEllATioN Should you, or any member of your party, be forced to cancel your booking for any reason you should notify the manager of the hotel concerned in writing at the earliest opportunity, enclosing any relevant and supporting documentation.
