Throughout December a range of Christmas performances will take place in the main atrium of Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham.
They will include appearances from local school choirs, singers from the Trust and musicians.
Chief Operating Officer Maggie MacIsaac said: “We are delighted to be holding these festive performances in the run up to Christmas. Our new hospital provides us with a lovely light and airy space in the main atrium which is perfect for these events. Our Christmas programme allows us to really embrace the community at this time of year and we hope it will bring some seasonal cheer to patients, visitors and staff.”

6 Christmas Guide 2009
On Christmas Eve, the Chaplaincy organise carol singing around the wards. We receive so many comments of appreciation in the following days that we are in no doubt how much this means to patients and on-duty staff.
We meet in the Chapel, A-Level at QAH at 6pm, and start around the wards at 6.30pm. We finish between 8pm and 8.30pm.

8 Christmas Guide 2009
Guidance regarding Christmas decorations around the TrustPlease comply with the following reminders when putting up Christmas decorations around the Trust:
General Policy
Christmas decorations are encouraged in all areas of the hospital with the exception of cubicles used for the nursing of patients under transmission precautions.
Planted live trees should not be introduced into clinical areas but can be used in all public areas.
Lights
Please turn your lights off! Christmas lights should be turned off at the end of the day as they pose a large fire risk if left unattended.
Fixing decorations
Please do not fix decorations to the walls as this may damage the wall surfaces. If fixing decorations to furniture, please use blu or white tack, rather than sellotape to fix them as this is easier to remove after Christmas.
Infection Control
If there is an infection outbreak in clinical areas, decorations will have to be removed. If required, decorations can be decontaminated before or after Christmas using hydrogen peroxide robots. Please contact the Infection Control team on ext: 7700 6261 to arrange this.
Fort Cancer Charity’s
Lake of LightsFORT Cancer Charity are once again proud to be holding their annual Lake of Lights event at Canoe Lake, Southsea on 21 December 5pm - 8pm.
For more information please contact tel: 023 9237 7898 or visit www.lakeoflights.org.uk | www.fort-cancer.org.uk
