of Europe. It borders the bay of Biscay and in between Belgium and

FRANCE CLIMATE generally cool winters and mild summers, but
mild winters and hot summers along the Mediterranean; occasional
strong, cold, dry.

which is 4,807m

Biscay and the Mediterranean sea. Some major source of income is
tourism, machinery, chemicals, automobiles, aircraft, electronics;

catholic 83%-88% of people are roman catholic in France. 1% of

flag looks like this because the three equal bands of red,white,and
blue known as the le drapue tricole the flag dates 1790 when the
French color white was combined with the pursion military colors
red and blue

CHRISTMAS EVE IN FRANCE In France they do celebrate Christmas
they say 'Joyeux Nol' that means merry Christmas in the French
language. In France Yule logs made out of Cherry Wood are often
burned is French homes. The log is carried into the home on
Christmas Eve and is sprinkled with red wine to make the log smell
nice when it is burning. There is a custom that the log and candles
are left burning all night with some food and drinks left out in
case Mary and the baby Jesus come past during the night.

CHRISTMAS IN FRANCE The main Christmas meal, called Rveillon,
is eaten on Christmas Eve/early Christmas morning after people have
returned from the midnight Church Service. Dishes might include
roast turkey with chestnuts or roast goose, oysters, foie gras,
lobster, venison and cheeses. For dessert, a chocolate sponge cake
log called a bche de Nol is normally eaten.
