CONTACT: PAUL FALKOWSKI, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR (402)556-8032 – E-Mail: [email protected] DATE: October 19, 2011 DECEMBER 8, 2011: “CHRISTMAS IN OUR HEARTS” CHRISTMAS PRODUCTION REACHES OUT TO SENIOR CITIZENS IN NEBRASKA AND IOWA OMAHA, NE –14 TH ANNUAL CONCERT, “CHRISTMAS IN OUR HEARTS,” TO BE PRESENTED BY DESERT MINISTRIES FOR NEBRASKA AND IOWA SENIOR CITIZENS, SHOW TO FEATURE SOME OF OMAHA’S BEST MUSICIANS AND SINGERS. “‘Christmas in Our Hearts’ is an annual Christmas celebration that we host on behalf of the elderly,” Paul Falkowski, founder and executive director of Desert Ministries, said. “We bring in residents from senior living facilities all around the metro area and give them a Christmas party to remember. For some of these folks, it’s the only Christmas celebration they’ll have, so we do everything we can to make it extra special.” The production of music, dance, and drama is presented by volunteer artists from around Omaha. Many of these artists are professional musicians who frequently volunteer their talents to the elderly throughout the year. An additional 100 volunteers will be on hand to make this event a success by safely loading and unloading busses, ushering, and serving refreshments. The venue for this year’s event is the DoubleTree Hotel, Main Ballroom, 1616 Dodge Street. The concert begins at 1:30 P.M. The event is free and open to the public. We are especially grateful to this year’s sponsors: Vetter Health Services, Hillcrest Health Systems and Good Samaritan Society.
