Here at Market Treasury, we are very excited for 2012. Over the past year, our publication has grown and evolved into something special. Our staff has grown, and over time we have become a family.

By luck or fate or maybe a bit of both, we have gathered some of the most talented and creative people in the Springs. It only makes sense that our magazine should reflect not only the people who create it, but the city that embraces it. In that spirit, Market Treasury proudly announces that we are changing our format from a direct mail advertising publication into an editorial magazine made just for the wonderful community of Colorado Springs.

This issue is only a taste of things to come. Over the next year, we will be adding editorial content produced by our talented staff with contributions from local writers and photographers. We will be expanding into a Colorado Springs-centric maga-zine, complete with articles about current events,

local businesses, restaurant and entertainment guides, arts and lifestyle features, and much more.

These pages represent one of the many exciting new features we will be adding. Each issue will include a section just for kids and families, with games, contests, fun local activities, and stories you will want to share. The world recently lost one of the most brilliant, out-of-the-box thinkers we have seen in a long time. Steve Jobs was an icon for many things, but one thing he will always be remem-bered as is an inspiration for all.

Steve Jobs has revolutionized so many different industries with his innovative devices. The iPhone, iPod, and iPad have changed how people look at things. Literally. The media has now been forever changed. News, the music industry, social networking, advertising, and even how we interact with other people have all been changed. The bar has been raised and the rest of the world is trying to keep up with the ingenious thinking that has made Apple what it is today. Steve Jobs made some of his best work in the declining years of his life. In the face of death he revamped technology and showed the public what can be done when you “think differently.”

Ingenuity is defined as 1) the quality of being cleverly inventive or resourceful and 2) cleverness or skillfulness of conception or design. I think no better words describe Apple better than these definitions. Apple would not be what it is today without the man behind it.

Innovative thinking is not always an easy thing to do. Even if you have really great ideas, there are usually a few obstacles in your way of getting it done. Whether it’s trying to start or expand your business, or just trying to get more people interested in your hobby, if there’s a will there’s most certainly a way. This is especially true now that the road has been paved for “different” thinkers. Apple devices are built not just for fun and entertainment, but also as powerful tools for business. Apple has specific programs, applications, and even trained employees to help you with your own business.

Businesses around the world now can communicate seamlessly with one another de-spite their varied locations because of the iDevices. No matter what business you have, no matter what the task at hand is, or what the goal in mind could be, Apple is here to help. Apple products are used by countless business owners to help get their businesses booming. Just take a look at Apples App store, where there are thousands of apps you can use for your own business to help with finances, advertising, updating, and communi-cation with other employees. Add another iDevice (like a macbook) and it becomes even simpler. Apple devices work in perfect harmony with each other and make daily tasks a lot smoother. Apple wants everyone to “think differently” and get your own business roll-ing the way it should be. The road ahead may not be a pretty one at first, but it will all be worth it in the end.

President Obama gave a brilliant quote when offering his condolences. “The world has lost a visionary. And there may be no greater tribute to Steve’s success than the fact that much of the world learned of his passing on a device he invented.” How many people leave that kind of legacy after they’ve passed away?
