• LION BRAND size K-10.5 [6.5 mm] crochet hook OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE

• Scraps of contrasting yarn to be used as markers

• LION BRAND large-eyed, blunt needle

GAUGE

10 sts + 8 rows = 4” [10 cm] in pattern.

BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.

PONCHO HALF – Make 2

With A, ch 34.

Row 1 (WS) Dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in each of next 14 ch, 3 dc in next ch, place marker in center dc of last 3dc-group and move marker up to corresponding st in each successive row, dc in each of next 14 ch, 2 dc in last ch; turn – 35 sts.

Row 2 Ch 1, sc in each dc across; turn.

Row 3 Ch 3, dc in first st (inc made), dc in each st across to next marked st, 3 dc in marked st, dc in each st across to last st, 2 dc in last st (inc made); turn – 39 sts.

Row 4 Repeat Row 2.

Rows 5-8 Repeat Rows 3-4 twice – 47 sts at end of Row 8.

Fasten off.

With RS facing, join B in first sc.

Rows 9-56 Repeat Rows 3-4 for 24 times, working in the following color sequence:

8 rows B – 63 sc at end of Row 16.

8 rows C – 79 sc at end of Row 24.

8 rows A – 95 sc at end of Row 32.

8 rows B – 111 sc at end of Row 40.

8 rows C – 127 sc at end of Row 48.

8 rows A – 143 sc at end of Row 56.

Fasten off.

Row 57 With WS facing, join B in first st, ch 1, sc in first st, tr in next st, *sc in each of next 3 sts, tr in next st; repeat from * across, sc in last st; turn – 143 sts; 36 tr. Push all tr to RS of work.

Row 58 Repeat Row 3 – 147 sts.

Rows 59-64 Repeat Rows 57-58 for 3 times – 159 sts at end of Row 64.

Row 65 Ch 1, sc in each st across. Fasten off.

ASSEMBLY

With RS of 2 Halves facing, using large-eyed, blunt needle and matching colors, matching row-end sts, sew Sides together up each side to neck opening.
