Aug 5 - "And the Pursuit of Happiness" Rev. Dr. Dale A. Meyer (Exodus 16:2-15; John 6:22-35) When the main goal in life is your happiness, you've turned in on yourself and away from others, especially God. Turn from yourself to Jesus and you'll know a peace that surpasses all understanding, and that is the basis for true lasting happiness. The August 5th broadcast is sponsored by Dean & Pat Cluver Aug 12 - "Pigeonholed" Rev. Dr. Ken Klaus (John 6:42) Just when you think you are getting to know Jesus, He says something which can confuse. Today the world remains confused about God's Son, our Savior. That's because Jesus refuses to be pigeonholed by the world's desires or expectations. He's God's Son, Who has come to save humankind. Anything else, or different than this, is simply unacceptable. Traditionally, The Lutheran Hour refers to August as, “Archives August”—an opportunity to reach back into TLH’s archives for sermons of old. As of print, they have not settled on which broadcasts to reprise; hence

our listing of only the first two Sundays.

August 12, 19, & 26 airings of The Lutheran Hour on WIBK are sponsored by Calvary. Tune in Sundays at 8 AM to AM-1360 or FM-96.9.

I, Susie Boomgarden, MUST RESIGN from putting up banners for weekly services. I have a bad neck and two aching shoulders and can no longer lift the banners with the 10-foot pole. PLEASE, do not leave my partner Gretchen Elliott to do this alone. Someone needs to help—tall and strong arms help! Please call myself (815-432-3687) or Gretchen (815-432-2901) if you can help. Thank you, Susie Boomgarden (serving 1984 to July 2018)
