/ Holloway installed at First Baptist

The Rev. Edward B. Holloway will be installed as the pastor of Zebulon First Baptist Churc_b, 304 Barbee St., on Sunday at 4 p.m.

Holloway was an associate minister at Greater New Birth Baptist Church in Durham at the time of his calling by the congre-. gation of Zebulon First Baptist. He received his training under the late Dr. W.T. Bigelow of Greater Saint Paul Baptist Church in Durham and was ordained by the East Cedar Grove Association. He received additional ministerial and biblical training at Liberty Bible Institute in Lynchburg, Va.

Additionally, Holloway has worked on various church-related assignments, serving as president of the Interdenominational Minis-terial Alliance in Rome, N .Y., and developing a gospel services pro-gram for the U.S. Navy in Guam, M.I. Holloway was in the U.S.

.. Air Force and was afforded ..lbe ·opportunity to travel to many countries delivering the gospel message aiong with visiting all 50 states.

Holloway and his family reside in Zebulon, where he believes that, because of the accessibility of the people to the pastor and the pastor to the people, "the ministry with the blessings of God will thrive." The installation message will be delivered by the Rev. Don-ald H. Fischer of Greater New Birth Baptist Church in Durham.

Good Samaritan Team honored

There will be a special program at Beaver's Chapel United Church of Christ in honor of the Good Samaritan Team April 30 at 7:30 p.m. The moderator will be Pastor Larry Alston, and the

The purpose is to aid the team, which has given out approximate-ly $10,000 to assist terminally ill

its annual "Family and Friends Day" Sunday at 3 p.m. The guest speaker is the Rev. Yvonne Beasley of Butner. Dinner will be served between services. The public is invited.

Also, the Outreach Missionary Society of Beaver's Chapel Unit-ed Church of Christ is sponsoring a trip to "The Spirit of Norfolk" in Norfolk, Va., June 26. A bus will leave at 11 a.m. and return at 10:30 p.m. The cost is $55 per person. Call for reservations at 269-9818.
