Mission Statement
We, the Church of Saint Joseph, are a Catholic, Benedictine faith community. Through our
liturgy and faith formation, we build on a solid foundation as active witnesses of Christ,
and we eagerly respond to the needs of the Parish and the global community.
New Parishioners To register, stop by
the parish office or mail your completed
registration form found on the New
Parishioners page of the parish website.
Prayer Corner If you know someone in
need of prayers, please call the parish office
at ext. 100 and ask that their name be added
to the Prayer Corner of the bulletin. In
addition, you may call one of the chairpersons
of the Prayer Network: Mary at 363-4244 or
Joan at 363-4358.
Infant Baptism Attendance at a baptism
class is required for all baptisms, even for
parents who have had other children
baptized. Please call the parish office at
ext. 100 to register for the baptism class
(held the first Monday of each month at
6:00 pm). The date of baptism will be
scheduled upon completion of the class.
Marriage Please call the parish office at
ext. 100 to set a wedding date and to register
for a parish preliminary marriage session. A
minimum of six months is needed for
preparation.
Pastoral Care If any parishioner or family
member is in need of a pastoral care visit,
please call Fr. Jerome at ext. 122. Today’s
privacy laws do not permit hospitals to
contact churches when a patient is in need of
a pastoral visit. We are made aware of it only
when the individual or their friends and family
contact us.

This edition of our weekly
bulletin is dedicated to all
of our Parish Festival
volunteers who have given
of their time in service to
our parish! Without their
help, we would not be able to host our Joetown
Rocks festival each year. We are grateful for all
of the organizers, stand chairs, and workers who
have made this year’s festival possible.
Members of our leadership team have shared
their organizational and coordination skills to
ensure that all runs smoothly and efficiently.
And of course, the festival couldn’t happen
without our work force who help with festival
planning, preparations, set up, clean up and
providing food, refreshments and fun in our
festival stands. Our heart-felt thanks to each of
you! And honorable mentions go to employees
of Central Minnesota Credit Union as well as
relatives and friends of parishioners who have
generously volunteered their help.
A special Thank You to Andy McAleer, The
Midtown Men, Jeff and Tom Velline with
Rockhouse Productions, and to our concert’s
major sponsors: Sentry Bank, Mathew Hall
Lumber, Pam’s Auto, Sunset Manufacturing, all
Saint’s Academy and Leighton Broadcasting for
making this year’s concert possible and
Bernicks for sponsoring our awesome fireworks.
We are also grateful for our parishioners who
have prayed for good weather and a successful
festival. And we want to thank members of the
Smok’n Guns, St. Joe Lions, Bernicks, Gary’s
Pizza, concert advertisers, Yuppy Photo, and all
businesses in the community who support our
parish. God truly blesses us as we gather for our
annual fundraiser and community-builder!
In listing names, we realize we may have
unintentionally missed some. So if you have
helped with our 2018 Joetown Rocks Parish
Festival and don’t see your name listed on these
pages, please notify our parish office. We will
publish additional names in a future bulletin.
May God bless you for being good stewards of
your time and talent, caring enough about your
parish to lend a hand with this important
fundraiser!

Dear Friends in Christ Jesus: This bulletin is,
as you can see, dedicated to all of the
volunteers who year after year support the
parish festival with their hands, heads and
hearts. Thank you! So many to thank and we
hope that your name was not left out; if so,
we are sincerely sorry. Once again we look
forward to the parish festival, begun by the
pioneering families of whom many of you descend. What a wonderful
legacy of community, family, church, and freedom.

Gospel Reflection
“Do not be afraid: just have faith!”
With these words, Jesus assures the
synagogue official that his daughter
will be OK. How is your faith? When
you pray, do you believe that God
hears your prayers and will answer
them? God can and does answer our
prayers in many ways! Sometimes it is
the answer we wanted. At other times,
it is a different answer than we
expected and sometimes the answer is “Not now.” How has God
answered your prayers?
In the Gospel for July 8, we also hear a message about faith! God
sends messengers to his people and they are not accepted. Who are
the messengers of God’s word in your life? It may be the Sunday
homily or a message from another person. It may be a passage from
the Bible or from another book you are reading. How do you accept
these messages? Often the most obvious ones are the hardest to
accept because we are looking for the extra ordinary. This week,
reflect on the gift of faith. What will you do to deepen your faith?
Reflect on your messengers! Are you listening to them?

on this very fun and faith-filled week!
