Prayer Vigil for Life This week I would like to encourage everyone to join us as we mark the 45th Annual March for Life in Washington, DC. As you know, the March for Life gathers thousands of people each year to ask our nation that the law that legalized abortion in our nation needs to be overturned.

In support of all those who march in Washington, the Respect Life Committee will host a special Prayer Service for Life on Thursday, January 18th in the Church at 7:30pm. Join us

We pray that the law that legalized abortion in our land decades ago may one day be overturned and that, as church, we will always bring love and compassion to all women and men in this situation.

Ushers News We call your attention to a special meeting of all Ushers on Monday, January 22nd at 7:30pm in the church. I encourage all ushers to make every effort to be present. An usher serves to create hospitality for all in attendance by greeting and welcoming parishioners, giving out bulletins, taking up the collection and responding to general needs of the congregation during Mass. We will use our meeting to make the good service ushers provide even better going forward. Additionally, new ushers are welcome to join us. We invite parishioners who may have an interest in serving our parish in this important way to also attend the meeting. Interested parishioners should call the Rectory to let us know that they would like to join the ushers. I look forward to hearing from you. Im grateful for the good service our ushers provide and who have done so for many years.

Upcoming Meeting Dates Friday, January 12th, Senior Group - 10-12noon - Parish Activity Center Wednesday, January 17th, Parish Staff Meeting - 11:30am - Rectory Conference Room Saturday, January 27th, Liturgy Committee- 10am - Rectory Conference Room Tuesday, February 6th, Pastors Advisory Group - 7:30pm - Rectory Conference Room

Lastly, I would like to encourage everyone to join us for the Mardi Gras Party at the Muriel Morabito Center, on Saturday evening, February 10th at 7:00pm. Once again this year, we will have a live band for entertainment and dancing, games of chance. The evening will also feature Mardi Gras style cuisine and Italian favorites from our friends at Sansottas Deli. For more details and to make your reservation, please see the flyer in todays bulletin. Extra fliers are also available at the church doors and on our website. I hope you can join us. Have a grace-filled week God Bless you Fr. John

    PARISH PAY USERS

This past October Parish Pay transitioned to the We Share Giving on Line Program. In previous bulletins, you were advised that the first time you enter the new system you would have to go through a one-time validation process. For those of you who have not verified your information, kindly go to our Parish website: holyspirit-cortlandtmanor.org and click on the On Line Giving Program link; click on verify my account and follow the instructions. If you have any problems, please contact our parish representative at We Share, Kelly Lawrence at 800-950-9952 X2544. Additionally, you will be receiving two contribution statements this year. Parish Pay will be sending one for the period January 1, 2017 to October 5, 2017, and We Share will issue one for the remainder of the year.
