Holy Trinity is a parish community in the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego. We gather as God’s people to worship Him and to be renewed in faith, hope and love. As individuals, we come from a diversity of cultures, ages, state in life, ethnic heritage and backgrounds; yet all are united in One Body, the Church. In the Eucharist we are strengthened in our communion with Jesus Christ and each other. We are to be Who we receive, and bring the Light of Christ whenever and wherever we are. Holy Trinity is open to all people of good will. Anyone with a sincere heart can have a saving encounter with Jesus Christ because we believe He is present in the Word we proclaim, in the Sacraments we celebrate, in the priest acting in the Person of Christ, and in each one of us gathered in His Name.

Welcome! Bienvenidos!

EVERYDAY STEWARDSHIP The Steward’s Work Is Never Done Woe to the shepherds who mislead and scatter the flock! When you hear these strong words from the Old Testament, you’re probably thinking, thank goodness I don’t have any sheep — dodged that bullet. Nobody misled here! No flock scattered on my watch! However, we are all shepherds of a kind, called to tend our own sheep: our families, our parishes, our communities. But it’s exhausting. Don’t we all sometimes just want to take a break from being a steward? The excuses are so familiar: we’re tired, we’ve done enough, we’ve given all we can, what more does the parish (or my spouse, or my kids, or my boss, or my friends, or my community) want? We give ourselves permission to be selfish. So, what if the flock scatters just a little? Jesus gets that. We can just imagine him weary with exhaustion, can’t we? We see him on his boat, attempting to sneak away for a quick break — maybe just a chance to eat a bite of food in peace. He is God, but he was still human, after all. Even the most dedicated shepherds need to sleep. But people couldn’t leave him alone. They were hungry for him. They needed what he could offer, and they needed it now. As tough as it is, that’s the example we are tasked with imitating. Everyday Stewardship demands accountability. It demands our showing up even when we are tired. It demands that we look at our lives, our time, our energies, our talents, our hearts, our bank accounts and think: where do I still have more to give? — Tracy Earl Welliver, MTS ©LPi

Dear Parish Community,

At the very core of our Catholic Tradition, we as a church have always reached out to others to proclaim Jesus and His gospel.

The Rite of Christian Initiation is a process teaching for anyone who is either is not baptized or has not received all of their Sacraments of Initiation. It is also made available for our parish members who would like to learn more of their faith. The classes are designed for adults.

We will start September 28 at 7 pm in Room 2 of the Parish classrooms and continue each Tuesday evening through May 24. We offer the class in English or Spanish.

Our instructors are experienced and well trained to assist all forming a closer encounter with Jesus and His church.

Please pray whether this is for you or whether you know of someone you might invite.

If so, please contact the ministry center and complete a registration form.

God bless you, Deacon Tim

— Tracy Earl Welliver, MTS ©LPi
