About CIAF China International Art Foundation (CIAF) is a not for profit organisation which exists to promote the development of the Chinese art market within an international context. CIAF provides a platform for the exchange of ideas between industry leaders within the Chinese art market and their international counterparts, particularly in the UK. The Foundation supports academic, cultural and educational exchanges, and aims to develop a cross-border network of art investment professionals. Art Program in The CityCIAF is delighted to offer art program to the public. Through a well structured and highly professional program, CIAF strive towards sharing information and developing best practice. The aim of the art program is to provide sophisticated and rounded programs to individuals with a desire to develop knowledge in how to collect and invest in art from both a personal and an investment perspective. The specialists

Helen Wang, Founder of CIAF

Helen's background combines both art and finance. She gained her Fine Art degree from Sichuan University in China, and took her MBA in the UK. She has worked in leading global investment banks and hedge funds, where she held various positions as a valuation specialist in securitised products and exotic derivatives. Helen founded CIAF after leaving her last job with JP Morgan. Her financial sector experience has left her with a deep knowledge of global financial markets and strong relationships with key financial institutions.

Passionate about art investment, Helen also has excellent relation-ships with leading contemporary artists and has helped many talented artists to exhibit in China and abroad.

Iain Robertson, Head of Art Business Studies, Sotheby's Institute of Art, Advisor of CIAF

Dr Iain Robertson has began as Head of Research and Development at Free Form Arts Trust (Community Arts) from 1990 to 1992, then as an Exhibitions Officer at the Royal Institute of British Architects, from 1992 to 1994, before entering in the British Council in Taiwan as a Cultural Officer. In 1998, he became a Senior Lecturer in Arts Manage-ment, at the City University of London. Since 2004, Dr Iain Robertson is Head of Art Business at Sotheby's Institute in London. He is also a chief advisor to China International Art Foundation. In addition to over 100 articles for the arts and national press, his book, Understanding International Art Markets and Management, was published in 2005 and a Chinese translation of the book is to appear in 2009. This book was followed by The Art Business(2008). A third book, A New Art from Emerging Markets was published in March 2011.

Colin D Sheaf, Deputy Chairman of Bonhams Group, Chairman of Bonhams Asia, Head of Asian Art at Bonhams

Colin Sheaf has been Head of Asian Art at Bonhams since 2001 and has had a distinguished 37-year career in the auction industry. As a world authority on Asian ceramics and Chinese Art he directs Asian Art specialist teams on four continents, holding sales in London, Hong Kong, New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. In the unequalled sale he organised in 1986, the ‘Nanking Cargo’. Salvaged from the ‘Geldermalsen’, the cargo of some 150,000 pieces of ‘new’ Chinese Export porcelain and gold was 100% sold during five days of auction for a world record total in excess of £10 million. Since 2005, as Chairman of Bonham’s Asia he has led Bonham’s drive into the Asian art market, culminating in opening this new auction business in Hong Kong in January 2007.

Anthony McNerney, International Director of Contemporary Art at Bonhams

Anthony McNerney has been involved at the forefront of the emerging markets of the Middle East and Asia as well as with the established European and American arenas. Initially Head of the Contemporary and Post-War Art depart-ments at Christie's South Kensington, he was subsequently appointed Head of the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sales at Christie’s King Street and then co-Head of The Contemporary Sales in London. He became an Associate Dire-ctor of Christie's in 2005 and Director in 2007. In 2007, he was appointed Dire-ctor of Contemporary Art, UK in Phillips de Pury & Company and in 2009 joined forces with Ben Brown Fine Arts as their Managing Director.

Florian's expertise in anti-que violins brought him a reputation in the field which resulted an art fund investing in such a unique asset class. He is also a passionate art collector with a taste in many of the most acclaimed artists.
