1-Executive summary:-

Definition of the zoo:-

Giza Zoo is considered the most beautiful zoos in the world and the richest, containing various

animal and plant species. This park was originally a botanical garden of Giza gardens created by

the Khedive Ismail and make it a masterpiece in the world of orchards, not comparable to bring

them rare from all parts of the world of plants, and paved roads Balzlt colored beautiful geometric

patterns, and the drilling of the walls and rivers and lakes and established by archways beautiful

and built the Aljblayat and planting around a lot of cactus plants and rocks plants.

bridges, waterfalls, lakes and birds on display. It also contains a museum was built in 1906 and

contains the rare groups of animals, birds and reptiles stuffed. The estimated number of visitors to

the park about two million visitors a year.

Problem definition:-

Hit the garden of neglect and the lack of any development in the garden or in the services provided

to visitors and as a result it has spread to the odors inside and spread garbage everywhere and the

deaths of many animals inside it.

Solution: -

Renovation and re-development of the park to return to previous level bearing in mind to be

efficient and sustainable solutions that do not damage on the ancient garden or inconsistent with

the Ministry of Antiquities and not to be the cause of environmental problems that do not conflict

with the World Association of Zoos laws.

This development will include several items, namely: -

1- Improving the zoo infrastructure e.g. toilets, passages, fences, benches, bins (recycling bins).

2- Designing a map for the zoo visitors and a guide booklet for the trees inside the zoo.

3- Raising awareness and the skills of the zoo gurads&security.

4- Renewing the education center and library.

5- Developing the Japanese kiosk.

6- Developing the tea garden .e.g. in corporation with food chains, designing a food menu relevant

to the zoo animals.

7- Designing bathrooms with handicapped facilities.

8- Designing a new logo for the Giza zoo.

9- Designing a new summer and winter uniform for the zoo staff.

10- Developing the conditions of the “petting zoo”, children play area, musical kiosk.

11- Improving all gates and entrance`s condition.

12- Integrating renewable and sustainable energy efficient systems.

13- Maintaining security measures for the visitors and the animals.

14- Sustainable income for the zoo.

2-Market analysis: -

A. survey:-

We visited the zoo to see the problems that exist within it and taking the opinion of visitors and

workers in these problems and confined most of the problems visitors in cleanliness, rest areas,

bathrooms, entry way to the zoo, street vendors, lack of interest in visitors to the park in general,

odors emitted from animal houses, rotting lake water, the low level of service provided and food

and drink tea inside the island, there is no system within the zoo, the proliferation of beggars in

the zoo, lack of interest in the mosque, not to activate some places, such as the police station and

first aid center.

Target customers: -

The average number of visitors to the park two million visitors annually, and that number includes

more than segment of visitors, such as low-and middle-income homeowners who are the majority

of the other high-income segment and they are few.

Is expected to take place after modification to increase the number of visitors to three million

visitors with an increase in the proportion of high-income class is particularly

And increase turnout universities and school students and those who want summer training inside

the zoo of different colleges such as (Veterinary ,Sciences, Agriculture and architecture) in

addition to interest companies, restaurants, cinemas and various training centers put

advertisements on Fences and inside the animal park.

3-Our ideas:-

1. The development and improvement of the infrastructure of the zoo include: -

Bathrooms with facilities for the disabled, passages, fences, rest areas, bins, and other.

A. Bathrooms:-

Number of bathrooms at the zoo 8 bathrooms uniformly distributed will be only re-renewed,

cleaned and put garbage bins next to the bathroom and put a banner urging the cleaning and

maintaining the bathrooms because it belongs to the visitors.

- Especially the handicapped bathrooms:-

Will be adding four private bathrooms handicapped uniformly distributed on the zoo every

bathroom has its own entrance to avoid overcrowding in front of the bathrooms.

B. passages:-

Will be the removal of the bottom of the passages because of many of drilling in addition to the

appearance of bad and replace it with a kind of colored tiles and the advantage of colored tiles that

will improve the landscape of the zoo, suitable price, the a large life.

C. fences:-

Will be fully cover the outer wall network of fiberglass material was selected this article because

they have a long life, inexpensive compared to other materials, will not affect the overall

appearance of the fence will prevent the entry of homeless animals into the zoo.

D. rest areas:-

The number of rest areas within the zoo 9 evenly distributed will be renewed and lighted lamps of

LED type because it is large the life and energy-saving and environment-friendly and will be

C. Bins:-

Will be the work of rubbish bins exploited in the recycling of waste such as plastic, glass, paper,

and metal and will baskets made of plastic because it is a cheap material, with the age appropriate

and can be recycled baskets after damage.

Animal houses: -

Will be put the sawdust under the animals to reduce odors emitted by them and added after bins

of roses to improve the smell and also what does not hurt the animals and improve the exploitation

of sunlight lighting the animal houses with increased air vents to change the inside.

* Will be the exploitation of animal waste in the work unit biofuel for use in Tea Island.

2- Designing a map for the zoo visitors and a guide booklet for the trees inside the zoo:-

Design is clear and easy to read for the zoo with some advertisements map.

The design of a small book contains the history and pictures of trees inside the zoo with some

advertisements too.

3- Raising awareness and the skills of the zoo gurads&security:-

-This program should be held every week for many groups of workers of every field in the zoo.

-The training should include motivation videos to encourage them to work hard and carefully to

protect animals' life that will help them to raise their salaries and get more Promotions.

- The workers should have a smart uniform everywhere in the zoo.

- They must have a special treatment with kids and old persons.

- They could take some toys with them every day to give them to kids.

- Every worker should have guide book in his specific place to guide him working well with the

animals.

4- Renewing the education center and library:-

- Re-arranging the old books in an orderly manner.

- A cooperation protocol with the work of the Library of Alexandria to provide the largest amount

of books related to the environment, animals and plants.

- The provision of computers in the library.

- Provide part inside the library where some types of books sold in fauna and flora and cylinders

exposed animals and other life.

- Choose librarian collaborator and knowledgeable art library management.

- Action periodic contests for library users with valuable prizes.

- Membership of the work of the pioneers of visitors to the library permanently.

- The organization of recreational and scientific trips for school and university students to be part

of them visit the Center for Environmental Awareness library and get to know their contents

- Work training courses for students of Cairo University and in particular colleges (Science and

Veterinary Medicine, engineering, fine arts, literature and all who is interested in identifying the

wildlife and history of the park and architecture inside with the exploitation of such courses in the

advertising or promotion of a company or a movie or a particular product.

- Showing documentaries at intervals for wildlife in general and in particular the park.

- Change your interior decoration library and education center and the use of colors, delightful and

attractive for visitors and related wildlife.

- Selection of volunteers from the student team to organize courses and training and propaganda

in universities.

5- Developing the Japanese kiosk:-

Japanese exploitation kiosk display in Japanese culture, such as: -

Displays paintings illustrate Japan's history and culture of those people.

- The work of a small restaurant around the kiosk offers food and drinks Japanese and shall be

provided by the Japanese people.

- The work of some of the statues that wildlife show in Japan.

- Exploitation of the kiosk in the publicity for Japanese cars and Japanese appliances to increase

the average income of the kiosk

6- Developing the tea garden .e.g. in corporation with food chains, designing a food menu relevant

to the zoo animals:-

Tea Island of the most attractive places quieter inside the park and can be exploited to achieve a

very large income for the garden, whether by providing food and drink featured inside and

exploited in advertising for major restaurants.

- Tea Island is managed by the park is better than renting because it is a huge source of income.

- Cookers can choose a good set by the administration and salaries rewarding to work in the Tea

Island.

- Tea Island will be run unit biofuel to exploit animal waste and reduce energy expenses.

- Design and meals with a catchy name (such as meal cheetah, leopard predator, the king of the

jungle, Buzzard, giant sky ...... etc.).

8- Designing a new logo for the Giza zoo:-

- Taken into account in the design of the new logo for the zoo follows: -

- The development of Egyptian civilization code such as the pyramids.

- Develop a symbol of the Egyptian moderate climate like the quiet sun.

- Develop a symbol of the zoo, such as giraffe, lion, etc.

- Choosing the background logo remarkably color.

9- Designing a new summer and winter uniform for the zoo staff:-

- Selection of uniform light-colored summer (yellow) because it does not absorb the heat.

- Selection of uniform dark winter (black) because it absorbs heat.

- Elephant House workers will be drawn on their uniforms elephant image for easy recognizable

by visitors and as a sort of etiquette and so on with other the animals.

- Took advantage of workers in uniforms propaganda for some companies such as Adidas, etc.

- The color of the shoe has to be of the same color uniform.

10- Developing the conditions of the “petting zoo”, children play area, musical kiosk:-

A. petting Zoo:-

- The use of "small pets" and the birds.

- Natural and delightful flowers for kids.

13- Maintaining security measures for the visitors and the animals:-

- Cover all animal cages with a network of fiberglass to protect animals and to protect visitors.

- Do not allow visitors to approach a lot of animals.

- Punishments for those who put the hit or feeding the animals from visitors.

Notes:-

- Finance study in Egyptian pounds.
