Brief Introduction

Peepul Park facility is located at Technopark Campus , Trivandrum,Kerala

Largest Training facility in TCS for Campus recruits and Continuous Learning.

Certifications ISO 14001:2015, OHSAS 18001:2007

Campus / Facility Area : 14.5 Acres / 36210 Sq.mt with capacity of 2200 seats. Trained 28000

associates in 2017-18.

Brief Introduction

Facility is designed and built as per Kerala Architectural design to withstand extreme rain and humidity

condition, maximizing availability of daylight.

Facilities : Offices, Library, Auditoriums, Gymnasium, Transit Quarters , Hostel , Cafeteria etc

Maximum demand-1400 KVA

Zero discharge campus (Recycling water, food waste and garden waste)

Vermicomposting facility to reduce carbon footprint due to landfilling of garden waste.

Energy saving initiatives in 2017-18

1. Additional cooling tower-Additional cooling tower was constructed to operate an additional water

cooled chiller of 120 TR in place of 210 TR air cooled chiller during summer (06months per year)

– Investment made- 10 lakhs

– Savings in units- 163680 kwh per year

Energy saving initiatives in 2017-18

2. Natural draft cooling tower was replaced by modular cooling towers with 2 forced draft

units. In addition 3 chiller and condensor pumps were replaced with IE3 rated pumps.

– Investment made:15 lakhs

– Energy Savings in units:30830 kwh/yr

3. Operational optimization of HVAC

• Investment made: 0

• Energy savings in units:36860 kwh

Innovative projects implemented in 2017-18

Use of acoustic based leak detection survey for underground MS water pipelines

Use of thermographic imaging to detect cold zones indicating insulation damages in chilled water pipeline and AC supply ducts. Insulation damages were rectified for increasing efficiency and resulting energy conservation.

Utilisation of Renewable energy sources

Solar water heaters are provided for accommodation buildings and hostel with a Total capacity

of 14000 lpd saving around 31200 kwh per annum

Waste to Energy project

Bio digester of capacity 500 kg per day for managing food waste in canteen. 95 tonnes of food

waste treated and 51.83tCO2e saved from 2015-16 to 2017-18 by processing food waste in bio

digester.

Other relevant information:Carbon footprint reduction from

vermicomposting plant As a responsible corporate citizen 200 kg/day vermicompost plant was installed in 2016-17 November.

Around 32 tonnes of garden waste has been processed in 2016-17 and 2017-18 thereby avoiding

6.37tCO2e.

Vermicompost from the plant is used as manure in own landscaping as well as distributed to associates

and support staff to promote farming/gardening.
