Installation Manual Update• New VSI Installation Manual printed December

2014• Available on the VSI website – copies can be

• Timing▫ Online vs. printed version

French Translation• Estimate received for translation of the VSI

Installation Manual, Trainer Supplement, Installer Supplement, Course PPT and Exam for $8,475▫ Translation would be done by Alain Courteau and

Helene Blanchard, who have been doing translation , gfor vinyl siding industry for 4 years

• Additional costs for laying out the manual and supplements, possibly reworking some PPT slides would be an additional $5-6,000

• Program is not expected to return to revenue neutral until 2018 –Canadian manufacturers would need to pick up the cost for translation

Course Updates/Certified Trainers• Since the Certified Installer course is based on the Installation

d h i i diffi ltmade comprehensive review difficult• CIOC decided that moving forward, feedback

received throughout the year from VSI staff, CIOC and Certified Trainers would be sufficient

• No formal survey/questionnaire planned, VSI staff will prepare short report based on informal feedback received throughout the year for discussion at CIOC winter meeting

Online Installer Certification - ProcessOnline Installer Certification - Progress

• An RFP was developed and reviewed by the OICDS, and sent to 10 content development firms in July 2014

• The CIOC approved moving forward in August 2014, and the Steering Committee approved September 2014

• A contract was awarded to Dashe & Thomson for the following components:▫ Produce a Web-based version of the existing course conducive to online learning ▫ Provide a Learning Management System (LMS) for hosting the course.
