Further to my circular of Tuesday 8 August, notices relating specifically to the proposed demolition and development of 148 King Street have been received from the developer, these are attached. Contrary to the advice in one of the notices, the work scheduled for three weeks beginning 21 August is expected to be noisy and disruptive as it involves demolition. If you wish to make a complaint about the work, please contact the Environmental Health Officer from the City of Sydney, the contact details follow:

148 King Street Project Construction Update
Work details
From 21 August, the existing hoarding at 148 King Street will be removed and replaced. The work Includes internal preparation for crane installation and a work zone established on King Street. The work is expected to be completed in 3 weeks (weather permitting) and is not expected to be noisy.
Subject to further approvals scaffolding will be erected around the entire building on King, Phillip and Elizabeth Streets.
Work hours Hoarding removal and replacement:
• Monday to Saturday from 9 pm to 5am • Sundays from 9pm to 5am (subject to approval)
Scaffolding installation:
This will take place during standard construction hours:
• Monday to Friday 7am to 7pm • Saturday 7am to 5pm
This work will be notified separately.
Traffic and pedestrian changes Local access will be maintained at all times with some lane closures. Any lane closures and minor diversions
will be under traffic management. When required, traffic control will be in place to direct motorists and
pedestrians safely around the work site. Access for emergency services will be maintained at all times.

Metropolitan Demolitions has been engaged by Galileo Phillip Street Joint Venture to deconstruct the existing building located at 148 King Street, Sydney as part of the proposed redevelopment.
Celebrating 40 Years…
Work to commence at 148 King Street Metropolitan Demolitions has been engaged by Galileo Phillip Street Joint Venture to deconstruct the existing building located at 148 King Street, Sydney as part of the proposed redevelopment. Work is scheduled to commence on 21 August 2017. Details of work activities As part of the enabling works the following works are to commence: The current hoarding will be replaced; following this activity scaffold will be erected around the entire building. The replacement of the hoarding will be between the hours of 9pm to 5am. The erection of the scaffolding will be during standard hours of work as below. Preparation for the establishment of a Tower Crane for the dismantling of the building is to be carried out under a Complying Development Certificate. Following this and satisfaction of City of Sydney Approval Conditions, the work will be continuous within the Phillip, King and Elizabeth Streets zone during notified periods including: scaffolding and crane installation, demolition work and removal of building material. It is intended a dedicated works zone will is to be established on King Street between Elizabeth and Phillip Streets and a temporary crossover will be installed on Phillip Street for vehicle access.
