Cisco AnyConnect VPN – MacOS (Vodacom Data)

1. Open a browser and navigate to https://mobileconnect.wits.ac.za. Log in using your staff or student credentials.

2. Click on Download for MacOS.

3. Click on Allow.

4. Once the download is complete, navigate to the Downloads folder and open the software.

5. Open the AnyConnect dmg file and Double click the AnyConnect icon to begin installation.

6. Double click on the software to begin.

7. Click on Continue.

8. Click on Continue.

9. Click on Agree.

10. If presented with the following screen, Uncheck all the Packages except

VPN and click Continue.

11. Click on Install.

12. Enter your macOS User Name and Password and click Install Software.

13. Installation…

14. You may be presented with the following window after installation, click on Open

preferences.

15. Click the lock to make changes.

16. Enter your macOS User Name and Password and click Unlock.

17. Click on Allow and Click the lock to prevent further changes.

18. Click on Close.

19. Click on Move to Bin.

20. Click on OK.

21. Open System Preferences and click on Notifications.

22. Select Cisco AnyConnect and Allow Notifications.

23. Search your Mac for Cisco AnyConnect and start the client.

24. Click on the gear icon in the AnyConnect window.

25. Check Allow local (LAN) access when using VPN (if configured) option.

26. Type the following in the AnyConnect window: mobileconnect.wits.ac.za and click Connect.

27. The Following icon will also appear in your menu bar.

28. Contacting mobileconnect.wits.ac.za…

29. Log in using your staff or student credentials.

30. Connected!
