Introduction
Coming up on its one year anniversary, the Cisco Evolved Programmable Network Manager (EPN Manager) has already proven itself as a flexible, end-to-end solution for managing the Cisco Evolved Programmable Network In this Cisco Knowledge Network webcast, we'll highlight and demo some real-world examples of how EPN Manager is being used to perform key network management tasks across a diverse range of networks. We'll walk you through how EPN Manager is simplifying Carrier Ethernet provisioning and service delivery for RLECs, how it's been used to consolidate management for large, converged packet and optical transport networks.

Network Modernization On March 22, 2016 Cisco announced innovations in its optical transport portfolio to address service providers’ challenges of migrating large volumes of profitable time-division multiplexing (TDM) services to an IP/MPLS infrastructure. Goal: help service providers build a packet network of the future while still delivering their customers’ TDM services at a fraction of the cost. Solution: 1. high-density circuit emulation technology located at the network edge (NCS
4200) 2. 400 Gbps density with pay-as-you-grow flexibility for OTN, Packet, MPLS and
Coherent DWDM service at the aggregation points (NCS 4000) 3. 400 Gbps client and trunk capacity in the optical transport core (NCS 2000)
