Europe is at a crossroads, and DiEM25 with it. We need a bold plan to establish our movement as one of the most relevant voices (and eventually, political actors) in the political landscape created by COVID19- and the decades of Establishment failures.

DiEM25 was borne out of the outrage of the inept and inhumane handling of the Greek crisis in 2015. The policies and the people that implemented them then are as powerful as ever, which makes DiEM25 more relevant than ever. But we must evolve and adapt to the current historic moment.

We have the ideas, we have the political analysis, but we are missing a plan and a structure for their practical implementation in the various countries where we are active.

The project outlined below aims to:

• Re-introduce DiEM25 to broader society

• Strengthen our democratic credentials

• Endow us with a democratically drafted political programme for each country where we are active

• Adapt our movement to the post-COVID (and post-capitalist) political landscape

• Gather feedback to help us finish the pillars of the Progressive Agenda for Europe

• Help us create clearer goals and targets for campaigning and coordinating our electoral work

• Make DiEM25 (and the European project) relevant and relatable in national contexts

The campaign is based on a series of meetings around Europe, organised directly by our members, that will help us create national programmes for our movement by engaging directly with citizens and asking for their ideas on how we could and should shape the rules governing our lives.

If you are interested in getting involved, or have any questions concerning the project, please email Erik Edman at [email protected]

. 1 Send a form to all members, asking them to send in the challenges they believe need to be addressed regarding life in the COVID-era, along with other key questions about politics in their community, city, and country

. 2 Compile the feedback received into national questionnaires

. 3 Empower our members to organise a series of assemblies, local meetings, hangouts at bars and cafes etc. around Europe, where these questions are presented, discussed, and answered, and the responses recorded and sent back to those who are helping compile the answers

. 4 Compile and adapt the answers to create our national programmes, which will go through the -2green paper voting process

. 5 Organise a big re-launch of the DiEM25 project along the lines of our national programmes and our finished Progressive Agenda for Europe

. 6 Run new elections for NCs and EWs everywhere, with step 8 (below) as their sole mandate

. 7 Spend the rest of the time, between January 2022 and May 2024 (European elections) creating political interest in our programme and developing political structures that can represent them electorally (EWs).

. 8 A three-year political campaign for the European elections (and all other elections in-between)
