January Events

Tuesday/Thurs. swim lessons began with 18 swimmer registered

Saturday Lessons began with 37 children and adults registered

Dolphins participated in Conway Holiday Classis swim meet

Lifeguard in-service 2 hrs./ 10 guards

Girl Scouts rented Therapy Pool and slide for 32 girls for 1.5 hours

Our first New Year – New You! Class was held to celebrate New Year’s Resolutions to health. We held eight 30 minute classes back to back with 8 instructors for 215 participants

Jr. Guards began their winter program for 20 would-be future guards. Ten of them are proudly on the Dolphins Swim Team

Patricia Ann Moore was presented with her Swimming Saves Lives certificate she was awarded in 2012. She lost her certificate during the Hurricane

February Scheduled Events

Dolphins will attend the I Love Swimming meet in Georgetown hosted by the YMCA

Lifeguard in-service scheduled Feb 17th

A Lifeguarding course will be taught Feb 7-10

Three AFC staff courses in First Aid/CPR/AED will be held Feb 11,12 & 16

T/Th group swim lessons continue with 18 registrants

Saturday group swim lessons will continue with 37 swimmers

After School kids are scheduled to swim Feb. 14 & 28

GSMS will host the SC State meet Feb 22-24

Fitness Programs

January 2019 Land class participation: 5755 258 classes for the month Class average: 22.31

Averaged 10 participants in the morning program Total – 270 visits

Adult gym participation average was 21, with a total of 229 adults in the gym for the month

Sports tourism season kicks off on February 9 -10 with Premier Girls Fastpitch with 32 teams from states all over the country

Registration for spring athletics will be February 11- March 8 for baseball, softball, and soccer

Adult sports registration will begin on February 24th

Sports Ambassador Luncheon February 13th

All-star teams will be selected for basketball for ages 9 and up to compete in districts March 2nd
