City of Fort Collins Energy Policy

• Energy Policy• 1.5% energy savings• Reduce system peak by 5% by 2015 / 10% by 2020• Develop renewable resources to meet the Colorado

Renewable Energy Standard • Provide Highly reliable electric service

• Comprehensive Plan Policy• Remain at the forefront of Smart Grid technologies and

participate in Research and Development partnerships.

RDSI Background – Fort Collins

• DOE awarded $6.3M; local entities contributed $5.1M.• City of Fort Collins is project lead.
