  • Policies

Salem enjoys a beautiful park, swimming pool, and baseball complex. Summer is a busy time and to keep the youth active in the colder months of the year, we offer soccer and basketball. To ensure that you and your friends have a safe and positive experience, park policies are adopted. Listed in this booklet are rules and regulations pertaining to the use of Salem Parks and Recreation facilities.

Accident Policy The Salem Parks and Recreation Department and the Sa- lem Park Board do not provide insurance coverage for any injuries suffered while participating in programs or using our facilities. All participants and users of park facilities do so at their own risk. We, therefore, urge anyone participating in programs or using park facilities to make their own provisions to provide adequate insurance coverage with their own insurance carrier.

    Refund Policy on Ball Fields

If ball games are canceled due to weather conditions, a 90% refund will be given. Otherwise, fees are non-refundable.

Consideration will be determined by the Park Board on an individual basis.

    Park Neighbors and Friends

Policy The “Park Patrol Program” is designed to urge park neighbors and friends who use the park to keep an eye out for vandals. If you see someone defacing or damaging park property, please help us by calling the Salem Police Department, 729-4242, or the Salem Parks and Recreation Department, 729-6290.

  • Pool Parties Private and semi-private parties are available for group activities. Staff and lifeguards will be included in the usage fee. If a pool party is cancelled because of weather, the fee will be refunded, less 10%. Every effort will be made to reschedule parties . To reserve the pool for a party, fees must be paid at time of the reservation.

Picnic Shelters The Parks and Recreation Department will reserve the picnic shelter houses located in the Salem Park for your special outing. Reservations must be made in person and fees are to be paid when the reservation is made. To find out about the availability of any shelter at the park, contact the Salem Pool at 729-6290 or if the pool is closed contact the City Hall at 729-4811.

Volunteers Wanted Help us expand our programs! Do you have any hobbies or talents?
