22.2 THE SCALE OF SUPPLY AND PRICE OF THE ESSENTIAL COMMODITIES UNDER PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM 2009-10

4 Kgs.per adult and 2 Kgs.per Child per month subject to a minimum of 12 Kgs and maximum of 20 Kgs.per month per card except Nilgris District. In Nilgiris district minimum of 16 Kgs and maximum of 24 Kgs per card. 35 Kgs of Rice issued to AAY Cards

As card holders choose

Sugar Rs.13.50 500 gms. per head per month. Maximum 2 kgs per card in addition to that, 3 Kg of Sugar issued in lieu of Rice for Sugar option Cards only.

In one instalment

Wheat Rs.7.50 10 Kgs.per card per month in Chennai City and District Headquarters and 5 Kg per card per month in other areas.

Kerosene Rs.8.40 to Rs.9.00

Price ranges from Rs.8.40 to Rs.9.00 per litre. (depending upon the distance from the oil terminal).
