Q.1:- Two trains A and B are moving on parallel tracks with velocities of 60km/h and 90km/h,respectively, but in opposite directions. Find (a) the relative velocity of train A with respect to train B and (b) the relative velocity of ground with respect to train A. Q.2:- A car at rest accelerates uniformaly to a speed of 144km/h in 20s. How much distance is covered by the car?

Q.3:- An electron is emitted with a velocity of 5x106m/s. It is accelerated by an electric field in the direction of initial velocity at 3x1014m/s2. If its final velocity is 7x10m/s,calculate the time taken by the electron to attain the final velocity and the distance covered by it. Q.4:- A stone is thrown vertically upward with an initial velocity of 14m/s. Find the maximum height reached and the time of ascent. Q.5:- On a foggy day , two car drivers spot each other , when thay are just 80m apart. They are traveling in opposite directions at 72km/h and 60km/h, respectively. Both of them simultaneously apply brakes, which retard both the cars at a rate of 5m/s2. Determine whether they avert the collision or not. Q.6:- An athlete runs a distance of 1500m in the following manner (a) starting from rest he accelerates himself uniformaly at 2m/s2 till he covers a distance of 900m.(b) he then runs the remaining distance of 600m at the uniform speed developed . Calculate the time taken by the athlete to cover the two parts of the distance covered. Also, find the time , when he is at the centre of the track. Q.7:- A body covers 4m in third second and 12m in fifth second. If the motion is uniformaly accelerated how far will it travel in the next 3second. Q.8:- A parachutist bails out from an airplane and after droping through a distance of 40m, he open the parachute and decelertates at 2m/s2. If he the ground with a speed of 2m/s, how long does he float in the air? At what height did he bail out from the plane? Q.9:- A car moving along a straight highway with speed of 120km/h is brought to stopwithin a distance of 200m. What is the retardation of the car and how long does he take for the car to stop. Q.10:- A body is moving with velocity 30m/s towards east. After 10s, its velocity becomes 40m/s towards north. The average acceleration of the body is (a) 5m/s2 (b) 1m/s2 (c) 7m/s2 (d) none.

Q.11:-A bus is moving with a speed of 10m/s on a straight road. A scooterists wishes to overtake the bus in 100s. If the bus is at a distance of 1kmfrom the scooterist, with what speed should the scooterist chases the bus? (a) 40m/s (b)25m/s (c)10m/s (d)20m/s. Q.12:- A partical starts its motion from rest under the action of a constant force. If the distance covered in first 10s is S1 and that covered in the first 20s is S2, then (a)S2 = 3S1 (b) S2 = 4S1 (c) S2=S1 (c) S2 = 2S1. Q.13:- A particle moves along a circular path with constant speed. What is the nature of its acceleration? (a) it is zero (b) it is uniform (c) its direction changes (c) its magnitude changes. Q.14:- If a man goes 10m towards north and 20m towards east, the displacement is- (a) 22.5m (b)25m (c)25.5m (c) 30m. Q.15:- The velocity of a body at the end of 4s is 26m/sand at the end of 12s is 58m/s and at the end of 22s is 98m/s. The body is moving with- (a) uniform velocity (b) uniform speed (c) uniform acceleration (d) uniform displacement. Q.16:- A body moves along a straight line, covers half time journey with a velocity of 18m/s and remaining half time with a velocity of 27m/s. The average velocity is (a) 24m/s (b) 20m/s (c) 22.5m/s (d) 30m/s. Q.17:- The ratio of the numerical values of the average velocity and average speed of a body is always- (a) unity (b) unity or less (c) unity or more (c) less than unity. Q.18:- The distance traveled by a moving train in the first, second and third seconds are 20m, 15m and 10m respectively. It means that- (a) the train is decelerating (b) the initial velocity of the train is 20m/s © the constant deceleration of the train is 5m/s2 (d) the constant deceleration of the train is 10m/s2.
