Time can be set aside forindividuals to meet with GAPS representatives to discuss specific needs.

A half hour presentation onessentials of serving scouts with special needs emphasizing scouting is for all youthregardless of ability. The second half is interactive, hands on disability challengeactivities, and a mock-up of a model tent ("Tranquility Base") as calming area whenmeltdowns occur. This hour provides a venue for more individualized support and thosenot able to attend the first two-hour sessions. Introduction to VenturingVenturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for youngmen and women who are age 14 through 20. Local community organizations establisha Venturing crew by matching their people and program resources to the interests ofyoung people in the community. The result is a program of exciting and meaningfulactivities that helps youth pursue their special interests, grow, develop leadershipskills, and become good citizens. Venturing crews specialize in a variety of avocation orhobby interests, including high adventure.

Project Management (3 hours)Venturing specific Project Management Training goes in depth on the parts of a projectand how to effectively conduct yourself as a leader to ensure a successful outcome.Through the training you will be provided templates and tools to successfully plan andmanage any team and project. We provide the basic understanding of projectmanagement concepts, and then in plain everyday words explain how a projectmanager and team can effectively: define the project, organize the work, create a plan,and work the plan to a successful conclusion. This course is required for the Venturerank of Pathfinder.

Goal Setting and Time Management (3 hours)Finding a successful time management strategy depends on a person's personality,ability to self-motivate and level of self-discipline. This course introduces establishedmethods for improving a Venturer's ability to effectively manage the events in his orher life in relation to time.
