The Turner Chapel AME Education Ministry will be honoring our graduating high school seniors on Sunday, May 27, 2018 during the 9:30 am worship service. It is our desire to recognize every Turner Chapel AME graduating high school senior, however, we can only do so if you submit a fully completed graduate packet, and all required information, no later than the Tuesday, May 1, 2018 deadline.
Packages will not be accepted after the deadline (no exceptions, no excuses)
Please Read: , • Completed packets MUST BE signed by student and parent and placed in an 8 ½ x 11 envelope. • Write your first, last name and 2018 TCC Graduate on the outside of the sealed envelope containing all requested
materials. • Place the envelope into the Education Ministry Dropbox in room 108 (clearly marked with a sign and arrow). • All students participating in the Graduation Ceremony must plan to remain until the end of the worship service.
Important Mistakes to Avoid: • Packets submitted via email, scanned photos, athletic photos, casual photos, or graduation proofs will not be accepted. • Packets that are dropped off at the church or given to church personnel such as youth pastor, Rev. Don, Rev. Dr. Tar U
Way Bright, Rev. Dr. Cassandra Marcus, or any other TCC ministers, staff, trustees or members will not be accepted. • Packets placed into the Education Ministry mailbox mounted on the wall in room 108 will not be accepted.
Your attention to these details will ensure that you are recognized with our 2018 high school graduates.

What should I wear? Wear your high school graduation robe, with hood and cords. Do not wear your mortarboard (i.e., hat). Wear appropriate church attire under your robe (no flip-flops!).
Do I have to remain throughout the service? Yes, if you are not planning to stay throughout the worship service, you should not participate.
What time should I (student) arrive? Arrive by 8:45 am and report to the Chapel.
What should I do if I arrive after the beginning of service? You may sit in the congregation, however, you will not be able to participate in the graduation celebration ceremony.
What should I do with my purse and personal belongings? Leave personal belongings with your parents.
Where will my parents sit? Parents will be directed to reserved seating behind the graduates.
Can I submit a digital photo, graduation proof, or will you contact my photographer to sign a waiver? No. We only accept appropriate photos as indicated by the samples shown here.
Will I receive an award or scholarship, just by participating? No. Each private scholarship and TCC Ministry have their own criteria for awarding scholarships and ministry awards.
Will I receive a Bible? Yes. All students receive an engraved Bible. Will I receive a Kenté Cloth? Yes. A Kenté Cloth commemorating this auspicious occasion is presented to each graduate as part of the ceremony.
Will you announce my GPA? No. We are celebrating you, not your GPA.
Will you take my word for the college I am planning to attend and the scholarships that I say that I have been offered? No. You must submit an acceptance letter and all scholarship award letters when you submit your graduation packet.
Can I bring as many guests as I want to the reception? No. The number of guests allowed for each graduate will be based on room capacity and the number of participating graduates.
I am a very special student and my parents are very special church members, will you accept my late package and make other exceptions? No. We believe in the integrity of the process and in holding all students to the same standard.

Please staple your completed packet in the top left-hand corner and place into an 8 1/2 x 11 envelope. Write your first and last name and 2018 TCC Graduation Packet on the outside of the envelope, seal the envelope, and place the envelope into the Education Ministry DROP-BOX in room 108. (Please do not place your packets in the Education Ministry mailbox mounted on the wall.)
Please note: By participating in the Turner Chapel AME Church High School Graduation Celebration you are granting permission for the Education Ministry to post your photo to the Education Ministry Facebook Page.
May 1, 2018 is the deadline for submitting packets. This is a firm deadline and there will be NO EXCEPTIONS. Confirmation for the receipt of packets will be E-mailed no later than May 5, 2018
