The Simple Future Tense

We use the simple future tense of a verb to express an action that will take place in the time to

come, in the future. The future tense is used to give information about a future event.

E.g.:- I shall become a teacher when I grow up.

They will play the match tomorrow.

Words like tomorrow, next week, next month, etc., may be used to suggest the future time.

How to Form the Simple Future Tense

We use shall/will + root form of the verb:

E.g:- Shall work; will go; will come.

Shall is used only with I and we. It is also used for offer / suggestion. Will can be used with all

subjects. It is used for invitation / asking for information.

We often use short forms also:

I will – I’ll We will – We’ll They will – They’ll
