THE KINGSTON LIBRARY
The Discover Kingston event in September reminded us of what fun discovery can be, so if you want to learn more fascinating facts about the broader area in which you live, here is good news. Walk through the doors of your library or open your computer to KRL.org and a
window of knowledge will open before you. We will take your hand and lead you along multiple paths of discovery to the fascinating history of this area in such books as Timothy Egan’s book, “The Good Rain”, Boys in the Boat, and so many others. If nonfiction is not your cup of tea, there are fiction books that transport you to another era in the PNW such as “Hotel on The Corner of Bitter and Sweet”. SO HOW DO YOU FIND THESE NEW FRIENDS AND KNOWLEDGE?
Open a computer, ENTER: KRL.org, click “CATALOG” select “SUBJECT” or “ANY FIELD” and enter the topic about which you are curious. In seconds it will all appear at your fingertips, and you can even request delivery to your local library through the “hold” system. If you need more help, do not hesitate to ask your librarians who can help you on your journey with suggestions as well. HAPPY DISCOVERY! Get a library card today and get access to all these awesome online resources! For more
information visit www.krl.org or stop by any branch of Kitsap Regional Library.

BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB
September has been a month full of changes! We have so many new members and with that comes new staff! More than ever we are in need of volunteers in order to keep the club running smoothly as we have jumped from having 30 elementary kids after school each day to having almost 60. If afternoons are not for you, we have almost as many kids here in the mornings before school that could benefit from additional mentors. We are
also in need of volunteers for our two annual fundraising events, our auction in the spring, and our Mystery Dinner that is coming up later this month. Finally, we do a STEM mentoring program every Wednesday in which we need 3 mentors for. These mentors will be provided curriculum to help them guide 4 youth in learning about all things STEM related. No experience is needed as this program is very user friendly and easy to lead, all it requires is a commitment of 1 hour per week for the year.
If you are interested in helping out the club in any capacity, please email Chelsea Tate at [email protected].
