NOTICE OF OBLIGATION TO CUT WEEDS
TO: The residents and property owners of the Town-ship of Fawn River, St. Joseph County, Michigan andany other interested persons.
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that in accordance withMichigan Public Act 359 of 1941, as amended, andTownship Ordinance No. 1A, all weeds in excess of 8inches in height within platted subdivisions, includingvacant lots; on unplatted lands with a dwelling or otheroccupied building thereon; and on all parcels of landalong improved streets in common usage if there is adwelling or occupied building located thereon; must becut to a depth of 165 feet by May 1st of 2019 andmust remain cut throughout the balance of saidyear by the owner or tenant in charge of thepremises. In default thereof;
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Township ofFawn River may enter the premises and cut the sameas frequently as necessary during 2019 to comply withthe foregoing regulations and may charge the costthereof against the property owner and for collectionmay place the amount upon the next tax roll of theTownship as a tax lien against the offending premises.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that any owner indefault of the foregoing obligation to cut shall also besubject to a civil fine of up to $500 for each violation.Such cutting obligation shall not apply to fields devotedto growing any small grain or vegetable crop.
