The public notice of a regular meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was posted in the US Post Office, Outlaw Cafe and the Community Hall on

January 20, 2020. The Trustees convened in open and public session at the Community Hall for a regular meeting at 7:00 p.m. Chairman Randall Horst called the meeting to order. Trustees present were Randall Horst, Joe Schoolcraft and Eli Weyerts. Both Leigh Niekum, Village Clerk and Warren Horst were in attendance. Chairman Randall Horst announced the Village of Gurley would follow the State mandate for open meetings. Declared the Open Meeting Act is posted on the east wall of the Community Hall Meeting Room.

Minutes of the December 30, 2019, regular meet-ing were read and minutes were approved with cor-rections.

Disbursements were reviewed. Niekum reported that the operating software cur-rently being used by the Village is out of date and no longer supported with updates. Suggestion was made to research the cost of updating to Windows 10 compared to pur-chasing a new computer tower. Information will be reviewed at the next meet-ing.

Employee Reports:Warren Horst reported

on chlorination and water testing. Niekum reported on the new process for reporting “weather relat-ed threats” with KSID radio. Niekum reported on a request for a Special Designated Liquor (SDL) license for an upcom-ing fundraiser to be held at the Community Hall. Discussions was held and Horst requested a motion to approve the request. A motion was made by Schoolcraft and seconded by Weyerts to approve the request. Roll call vote: Horst, Weyerts, Schoolcraft – all Yea. Nay

none. Approval for the SDL License was granted. Horst will call Searles to notify him of the request and Niekum will request the appropriate forms grant-ing approval from Big V’s Bar, Marsie Schumacher, Dalton, NE.

Discussion Items:Discussion was held

regarding street culvert damage, community hall outdoor steps, installa-tion of railings, process of recruiting a replacement member, dogs at large and ACE project.

Meeting adjourned at 8:45 p. m. Monday, January 28, 2019.
