W E MET IN 2006 at a welcome dinner for international students

during graduate school. We bonded through our heritage, Maurizio is from Italy and I am Venezuelan with Italian parents. With the excuse of practicing our Italian and Spanish together, we bagan hanging out. It didn’t take much for us to fall in love with each other. After getting married in Venezuela, we lived a couple of years in Italy before coming back to Florida.

WE LIVE IN FLORIDA WHERE WE HAVE MANY FRIENDS WITH WHOM WE SHARE OUR PASSIONS for outdoors and food. Yeah, food, can you believe it from an Italian?! We love cooking together. Our weekend activities often include delicious food, friends, and finding new spots for healthy and tasty food.

WE LOVE TO TRAVEL! Each year we go to Italy to visit Mauri’s family and friends.

WE ARE ACTIVE. Claudia loves swimming and biking. Maurizio loves running and playing soccer.

WE ENJOY NATURE, every year we chose a different place to hike and explore nature.

WE ARE AVID READERS.

CLAUDIA IS THE SWEETEST AND MOST CARING

PERSON THAT I HAVE EVER MET. I quickly realized what an amazing soul she has. There is no day we spent together in the past 11 years that she didn’t take care of me.

When we were in Italy, she had the courage to come to Florida, find a job and take care of me while I was studying. Behind her sweet personality there is a resilient woman for which family is her top priority.

MAURIZIO OR “MAURI” AS I LIKE TO CALL HIM IS AN INCREDIBLE PERSON WHO I DEEPLY

ADMIRE. He has the capacity to see and

bring out the positive in every situation and most

importantly in every person.

Because of his Italian background, he loves to cook

and enjoys making people happy through food. When

we started dating, he invited me to have dinner at his

place almost every night where we spent hours talking

and laughing, and getting to know one another.

He has this “kid humor” inside him that makes

him light and open, my nieces and nephew love to

play with him and always have a blast when they

are together. He manages to engage them in games

where they develop positive behaviors and values.

CLAUDIA IS A HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL, but taking care of people’s health is not just a profession for her but a passion as well. What amazes me is how easily people open up to her and share personal stories.

CLAUDIA WILL BE THE MOST LOVING MOM. SHE TRULY BRINGS UP THE BEST OF ME, MAKING ME SEE OTHER PEOPLE’S NEEDS. I HAVE NO DOUBT THAT OUR CHILD WILL BE

WE LIVE CLOSE TO THE BEACH, IN A VERY FAMILY ORIENTED NEIGHBORHOOD, WITH GREAT SCHOOLS,

PARKS AND AMENITIES. We specifically chose this

area because of the beautiful environment we wanted our

children to live in. The people in this area are particularly kind

and respectful, being this neighborhood is diversely populated

like many other places in Florida.

Considering that there is nothing as happy as a child playing on

the sand, we consider that the proximity to beach represents

the best playground ever. We love walking by the beach on the afternoons and enjoy the incredibly soothing view of the ocean.

Our kitchen/living room is the epicenter of the house, where

all the magic happens. Most of our time is spent cooking and

conversing in this area. It is truly the center of joy for both of us.

WE ARE VERY CLOSE WITH OUR FAMILIES.

Maurizio’s parents and brother live in

Italy and stay with us for several weeks

each year. Claudia’s parents live in Venezuela and

come very often. Claudia has two sisters; one living in

Venezuela who is a mother of two and the second one,

lives across the street from us is the mother of one.

We are very close to all of them and we spend a lot of

time together Our nephews are a blessing and will be

wonderful cousins four our child.

OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN VERY EXCITED ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY FOR US TO

ADOPT A CHILD AND THE EXPERIENCE WITH OUR NIECE HAS MADE OUR CHOICE EVEN EASIER.

OUR FRIENDS ARE A BIG PART OF OUR LIFE. All of them

are married and most of them have kids. We spend

many weekends together enjoying Florida’s wonderful

climate, and going to the beach is one of our favorite

activities. Our group of friends is very diverse, with

backgrounds ranging from Americans, European and

all kind of Latin Americans. You know, Florida!

As parents, we will strive to GIVE LOVE, VALUES and POSSIBILITIES to our child. We believe in KINDNESS, HONESTY, RESPECT and INTEGRITY, values that we hope to transfer to our child as the foundations to become a solid human being.

WE THINK THAT IT’S GREAT THAT OUR CHILD WILL GROW UP SO CLOSE ALSO TO OUR ADOPTED NIECE, so that they can share their experiences and above all our family's unconditional love.

As we grew up, both our parents made an effort to give us incredible opportunities, which in turn made it possible to meet each other. WE WILL PROMISE YOU THAT WE WILL MAKE THE SAME EFFORT TO GIVE YOUR CHILD THE SAME POSSIBILITIES.
